Kermit’s Rainbow Connection Gets A Comic Equal Marriage Twist

July 19, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It almost surprising The Muppets song, Rainbow Connection, hasn’t been used more by the LGBT community, especially in the gay marriage debate – but then, with the anti-same sex marriage lobby saying it will lead to bestiality, perhaps the pro side deliberately decided to steer clear of a song sung by a frog who’s in a relationship with a pig.

Now the song has been re-imagined in a new parody to be more explicitly gay, promoting same sex marriage and even suggesting the world would be a better place if Kim Jong-Un got it together with one of his generals.

The song originally appeared in The Muppets Movie, but has since found a life of its own, being reprised in both The Muppet Show and the recent The Muppets movie. It’s also been covered by the likes of Judy Collins, The Carpenters, Dana Valery, Sarah McLachlan, Kenny Loggins, The Dixie Chicks, Justin Timberlake, Jason Mraz, The Pussycat Dolls, Willie Nelson and Weezer. But it’s never been quite this gay or funny. [Read more…]

Backstreet Boys Show Gay Marriage Support In A World Like This Music Vid

July 19, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The Backstreet Boys are the latest to show their support for marriage equality by highlighting it in the video for their latest song, In A World Like This. The boys – Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean, and Howie Dorough – debuted the vid on Good Morning America in the US.

McLean said, “The concept of the video is based on the song, which tells a story of how love conquers all and ‘in a world like this’ that we live in, with all the craziness and negative energy that can go around, with real love you can overcome anything.”

The boys will also be on tour this summer. [Read more…]

British Band Autoheart Has A Message For Anti-Gay Russia In Their New Music Video

July 18, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

While the West has generally been moving towards greater acceptance of LGBT people both socially and legally, the same can’t be said of Russia. The country has become increasingly homophobic – just in the last few weeks Vladimir Putin has signed laws banning the ‘promotion’ of homosexuality and preventing foreign gay couple adopting children.

Everyone from the European Court Of Human Rights to Tilda Swinton has voiced concern over the direction Russia is taking, and now British band Autoheart have added their voice with a song called Moscow, which has a music video featuring Russian male soldiers kissing in front of the Kremlin.

They also released a statement saying, ‘We are lucky in Britain to have laws that mean whether we are gay, straight, bisexual or anything in between, our relationships are recognised and our rights protected by law. But in Russia there is an anti-gay crisis happening right now: their government does not want to afford their people those same rights and are trying to criminalise even the discussion of gay equality.

‘Something similar happened in Britain not long ago: Section 28, brought in by Thatcher’s Tory party in the Eighties to stop teachers from talking about same-sex relationships in a positive way, was only repealed in 2003.

‘These laws only serve to protect intolerance, ignorance, homophobia and hate crimes.

‘In our video, two gay Russian soldiers kiss in front of the Kremlin — yet just last month same a group of same-sex couples in Moscow were violently attacked and then arrested for doing just this.’

Take a look at the video above. [Read more…]

The Cast Of Major Crimes Create An Anti-Bullying PSA For GLSEN

July 17, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

To tie in with an episode of the US TV show Major Crimes (which is what The Closer became once Kyra Sedgwick left, in case you didn’t know) that centred on bullying, the cast has created an anti-bullying PSA for GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network).

GLSEN’s mission is that they want every student, in every school, to be valued and treated with respect, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

You can take a look at the PSA above, and find out more about GLSEN at their website. [Read more…]

Hugh Jackman Reveals How He Upset Some Japanese Locals With His Nudity!

July 16, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

wolverine-teaser-poster2-slide
Hugh Jackman is busy doing the publicity rounds for The Wolverine, and has revealed that while shooting in Japan, his lack of knowledge of local customs got him into a spot of bother when he was at a spa.

He told WENN (via the Toronto Sun) that he had a little confusion over what he should have been doing with a small hand towel he was given when he entered.

“The place is separated male and female and they hand you a towel, a small washcloth and there are eight different types of tubs with heats of different temperatures,” he says.

“I’m getting so hot and I’m using the towel they gave me to dip into the cold water and put it on my head and I was getting very strange looks from everybody. This was at the base of Mount Fuji and I was the only white person there. I thought, ‘Maybe this isn’t cool and I’m not allowed to be there’.

“I was feeling uncomfortable and finally this guy in the tub grunts and points to my head and then grunts and points to my private parts. Finally I realised the towel was meant to be covering my privates and I’d spent about an hour just waltzing around this place with this thing in one hand and a beer in my other hand!”

To be honest, we’re more surprised the locals didn’t keep quiet just so they could have the claim-to-fame of seeing celebrity schlong – but it does act as a warning to us all to be careful what we do with our genitals in foreign countries.

Andrew Christian Heads For Studburbia (Where the only clothes are skimpy undies)

July 12, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

andrew-christian-studburbia
It’s been far, far too long since I posted an Andrew Christian video on the site, so it’s time to remedy that with this new vid, Studburbia.

It’s a deep, existential piece of cinema looking at how impossible it is for dreams to meet reality, and the way man’s primal, animalistic urgings cannot be contained by the safe, seemingly asexual world of modern suburbia.

Alternatively it’s about lots of boy – a mixture of AC lads and porns stars from Men.com – jumping about in their underwear and occasionally showing off their butts. And it’s even done in soft-focus for the extra porn-y look!

You can take a look below and decide which of those it is for yourself. [Read more…]

Out Singer/Songwriter Eli Lieb Debuts Young Love Video, Remembering A Past Fling

July 12, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It seems to be the week for videos of gay singers reminisces about their past. A few days ago it was Steve Grand, with his look at a romance with a guy who was fine flirting in private but went super-straight in public in All-American Boy.

Now out singer/songwriter Eli Lieb brings us Young Love, about a past fling – which also features his first on-screen kiss.

Lieb says, ‘I am so happy to be able to share this video with you all and show that this is a celebration of love and living life to the fullest without fear. Be happy, live freely and be your most authentic self! LOVE IS LOVE! 🙂 – Eli’

It’s a pretty good song and a great looking video, so take a look. You can find out more about Eli over at his website. [Read more…]

Michael Cera Wants A Threesome With Paul Rudd (And Martha Stewart)

July 12, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Michael-CeraIf you give people questions at random and give them no time to think, you can get some interesting answers. That’s how the ‘no filter’ section of a Huffpo Live interview works, and has now revealed that perhaps Michael Cera wouldn’t mind having a threesome with Paul Rudd!

Here’s what he said:
HuffPo: A couple weeks ago Martha Stewart admitted to having a threesome on Bravo’s ‘Watch What Happens Live,’ so we figured we’d ask you the same question. Have you ever had a threesome?
Michael Cera: A threesome with Martha Stewart, no. No, no, no, I would never bring a third person into that. I don’t want to degrade it. I don’t want to talk about my threesomes with Martha Stewart.

HP: What do you think of Paul Rudd?
MC: I would have a threesome with him. Me and him and Martha I think would … I think we could actually have a marriage, the three of us. To answer that question seriously, I think Paul Rudd is one of the funniest, most talented actors working. I think he’s amazing.

Somehow I can’t see it happening in real life though.

Crush Of The Day: Rugby Star Nick Youngquest Shirtless & Oiled For Paco Rabanne

July 11, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

While we normally only cover film-related things here at BGPS, sometimes we have to take a little time out to appreciate the beauty of the male form – for purely artistic and cultural reasons of course.

Our appreciation glands certainly shot up when he saw these new images and vid of insanely hot (and often clothing averse) Australian rugby star Nick Youngquest. They’re all part of a new campaign for Paco Rabanne’s fragrance, Invictus. So as you’d expect, the ad is ridiculously over the top and the images have nothing to do with smelling nice – but they look good nevertheless.

The commercial, shot by French director Alexandre Courtès, supposedly follows Youngquest “through the euphoria of victory”.

You’ll also be pleased to hear that Castleford Tigers player Nick is very LGBT friendly. And if you want some more revealing pics, just search for his images from the Naked Rugby League Calendar 2007-2008, where only his hand covers his modesty.

Gay Singer/Songwriter Tom Goss Releases New Song In Praise Of Bears

July 9, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Tom Goss likes bears – not the animals, but the often chubby, hairy gay men. Goss’s new song, simply titled Bears, certainly features a lot of larger, more hirsute men, as well as the singer/songwriter being pretty sexy in his own right.

Washington DC based Goss has seen his populatiry grow ever since he started playing coffeehouses back in 2006. Now the former Catholic seminarian has a dedicated national following – and if he keeps releasing videos like this, he’ll have plenty of international fans too.

You can visit Tom Goss’ website to find out more about the man and his music. [Read more…]
