Growing Up With Harry Potter

December 2, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

One of the most unique things about the Harry Potter series is how it managed to keep the same group of actors throughout its entire run, and not only that, but it saw many of them grow up from kids into adults.

With the release of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 2 on DVD & Blu-ray, we thought it was the opportune moment to take a look exactly how Harry has aged from a little kid to a young man through the movies, and how we’ve been able to follow his journey through a truly extraordinary series of film.

Just click the first image below and then use you right cursor to see Harry grow up through the eight flicks.

Year 1 – Philosopher’s Stone
Year 2 – Chamber Of Secrets
Year 3 – Prisoner Of Azkaban

Year 4 – Goblet Of Fire
Year 5 – Order Of The Phoenix
Year 6 – Half Blood Prince

Year 7a – Deathly Hallows Part 1
Year 7b – Deathly Hallows Part 2

BGPS’s Advent Calendar Of Buff Blokes: Day 1 – Aaron Milo

December 1, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s the first of December, Christmas is coming, and that means Advent Calendars! Sadly, we can’t hand you little chocolates through the internet, but we can gratuitously present you with some hot pics of some buff blokes!

To start off with we’ve got Aaron Milo, the unbelievably hot guy from the recently released gay comedy, Eating Out: Drama Camp. The pic above is from the movie (read our Eating Out: Drama Camp review here), but click below to enlarge a few more images of this hotter than hot actor, courtesy of his official website and Facebook page. Let’s hope we get to see a lot more of the 27-year-old in the future (he’ll definitely be in the next Eating Out movie at least!). [Read more…]

The Lucky One Poster – Just imagine yourself snogging Zac Efron

November 29, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Zac Efron’s still busy trying to transition from teen sensation to grown up movie star, and whether he eventually succeeds or not, he’s certainly going to be very pretty while he tries. So that’s good news for us!

Now the first poster for his new romantic movie The Lucky One has appeared, and it’s a great one for Efron fans, as you can just imagine yourself in the place of Taylor Schilling. In fact, we’ve helped you out with that below!

Underneath our pretending-to-snog-Efron efforts you can watch the first featurette about the Nicholas Sparks adaptation, which sees Zac as a soldier who, after surviving the war in Iraq, travels to North Carolina to find the woman he believes was his good luck charm. It’ll be in cinemas in the UK on May 4th, 2012 (the April 20th date on the poster is the US release).

Orange BAFTA Rising Star Longlist Announced – Vote For Your Sexiest!

November 25, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Ok, ok, we know, the Orange BAFTA Rising Star Award isn’t about who’s the sexiest, it’s about honouring an up and coming young actor whose somewhat broken through in the last 12 months. Let’s face it though, they’re all hotties, and as this award is open to the public vote, you can pretty much guarantee that most of the votes won’t be given on pure acting merit (hence the impressive wooden Kristen Stewart winning a couple of years ago).

Of course, if you do decide to head over to the Orange Wednesday’s Rising Star Award site to say who you want to win, we recommend going for talent, but if you end up ticking Chris Hemsworth’s box just because he’s cute, nobody is going to know (I’m thinking of going fo Jessica Chastain, who put in remarkable performances in the likes of The Help and The Tree Of Life).

The longlist has been announced, and you can see all the entrants in our gallery below (click the pics to make them bigger). The first round of voting is now open, which will be used to whittle it down to a final five, who’ll be announced on January 11th. Orange customers will then be able to vote, and the winner will get their gong at the BAFTA Film Awards in February.

Adam Deacon
Chris Hemsworth
Chris O’Dowd

Eddie Redmayne
Felicity Jones
Jennifer Lawrence

Jessica Chastain
Tom Hiddleston

Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award Longlist:

Marvel Comics to End Solo Reign of Bisexual Character

November 23, 2011 By Tim Isaac 1 Comment

Marvel Comics announced last week that it will be ending the run of Daken: Dark Wolverine, the company’s only comic book with a solo LGBT lead character.

Comic Book Resourcesreports that Marvel editor in chief Axel Alonso Friday revealed the title’s cancellation; it is expected to end with February’s issue 21…

Daken, the mutant son of Wolverine, is known for the retractable claws and healing abilities he inherited from his father. The bisexual character also possesses enviable super pheromones that can instill romantic feelings for him in anyone he chooses.

Gratuitous Shirtlessness: The Men Of Immortals

November 17, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The reviews for Immortals may not exactly have been kind (it currently stands at a rather measly 36% on Rotten Tomatoes), but there’s little doubt that there’s plenty of very pretty man-flesh on display. As in 300, the film shows us that ancient Greek time, men had an aversion to wearing clothes, and were all ridiculously buff! It may not be historically accurate, but it’s sure pretty. Immortals, starring future Superman Henry Cavill, alongside Kellan Lutz, Luke Evans, Mickey Rourke, and Stephen Dorff, is in cinemas now – but if you just fancy ogling the pecs, take a look below (click on the images to enlarge). Is Bradley Cooper Really The World’s Sexiest Man? – A Retrospective

November 17, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Every year People magazine announces who they think if the Sexiest Man Aive, and the recipient of that accolade for 2011 has just been revealed as Bradley Cooper, who follows in the footsteps of the likes of George Clooney, Johnny Depp and last year’s winner, Ryan Reynolds. It’s been a slightly controversial choice, as some disagree that he’s the hottest guy around – many feel Ryan Gosling was robbed – and so we decided to put together this Bradley Cooper photo retrospective so we can decide for ourselves just how hot he is!

He’s an odd one really, as sometimes he looks cutely nerdy and geeky, and then when the camera catches him from certain angle, he’s truly classically beautiful. It doesn’t hurt either that he looks good with his top off (as he has to prove in pretty much every movie he’s in).

But without further ado, click the images below to enlarge them and enjoy the career of Bradley Cooper, from Wet Hot American Summer (where he played gay) to Limitless, via Alias, Midnight Meat Train and, of course, The Hangover. [Read more…]

New Aussiebum Ad – Purely For Artistic Appreciation Only!

November 15, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

I think there might be something wrong with me, but my main reaction to this new Aussiebum ad is that the ‘wonderjock’ really doesn’t look comfortable. However they do have certain properties that make for a pleasant aesthetic experience! I might have to watch it a few more time so I can truly appreciate the bulge-art on display. [Read more…]

Crush Of The Day: Trevor Wright In Shelter

November 14, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

As a film critic, you have to hope that while you’re going to be giving somewhat subjective opinions, you’re not going to like a movie more just because there are pretty people in it. However it sure doesn’t hurt. I was just rewatching Shelter so I can review the new Blu-ray version of it, and I’d completely forgotten just how cute the movie’s star, Trevor Wright is – so apropos of absolutely nothing here’s are som pics of him we can all enjoy.

Sadly his career hasn’t exactly gone stratospheric since 2007’s Shelter, with roles in the likes of Vacancy 2 and 2001 Maniacs 2, as well as the less than pivotal part of ‘B.U. Guy in Bra’ in The Social Network. He’s still young though so there’s always hope we’ll get to see more of his soon.

Oh, and look out for the Blu-ray review of Shelter coming very soon. [Read more…]

Toy Story Toons ‘Small Fry’ Teaser

November 14, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

On Friday we posted the first pic from the upcoming Toy Story toon that’ll be attached to The Muppets, ‘Small Fry’. Now a second image and a 30 second teaser clip have arrived, which you can see above and below. It’s just proof of how special Toy Story is that a new short featuring the characters can generate so much interest! In the short, Buzz Lightyear is left behind at a fast food restaurant when a kids’ meal toy version of Buzz takes his place. While Bonnie’s toys are stuck with the annoying three-inch-tall Buzz impersonator, the real Buzz is trapped in the restaurant at a support group for discarded toys. As Woody and the gang devise a way to rescue their friend, Buzz tries to escape the toy psychotherapy meeting. We’ll get to see ‘Small Fry’ when it plays in front of The Muppets when it arrives in the UK on February 10th next year.
