Go-Go Boy Interrupted: S2, Ep4 – Danny finds out about drag queen dilemmas

April 26, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

go-go-boy-interrupted-s2-ep4As you’d hope for a web series called Go-Go Boy Interrupted, Jimmy Fowlie’s show is often good at flashing some flesh. For this episode they bring in a master of it with Andrew Christian boy Pablo Hernandez showing off his acting skills – while only wearing some bulge inducing undies of course.

The ep also features Drew Droege, who lets us into some of the problems of drag queens, while being very bitchy. There’s also time for Danny to get a blast from the past when he meets someone he used to go to school with.

It is all slightly random, but it’s a fun episode, so take a look at it below. And if you need to catch up with early episodes of Go-Go Boy Interrupted, you can click here to find them. [Read more…]

#Adulting Episode 2 – Ben Baur’s comedic, gay-themed web series returns, & it needs your help

April 25, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

adulting-s2Back in January we posted the first episode of Adulting, featuring Hunting Season’s Ben Baur and hi friend Thandi Tolmay as gay and straight friends having to deal with the fact they’re now grown ups – whether they want to be or not.

Now, with a Kickstarter campaign running to raise money to finish the season, comes Episode 2. The episode, called Hipster Hell Hail Mary, sees Faye (Tolmay) out on a date which quickly starts to go hideously wrong. Luckily, Max (Baur) is literally on call to help her out – or at least to make things a hell of a lot more dramatic!

Tolmay comments, “We kind of take a swing at a wide variety of things in this episode.. But internet dating and hipster culture definitely take the hardest hit. My character Faye is not a classic ingénue leading lady. She can be a little rough around the edges and has very low tolerance for pretention and b.s. You see her take her best optimistic try at dating and fail.”

Baur and Tolmay created, write and star in the show, which is directed by TJ Marchbank . The three have been friends for going on 10 years after meeting at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, where they all graduated together.

Take a look at #Adulting Episode 2 below. And if you want to see more, go help out at the Kickstarter campaign. [Read more…]

Go-Go Boy Interrupted: S2, Ep3 – Danny attempts to show off his gay masc side

April 19, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

go-go-boy-interrupted-s2-ep3Last week saw the return of Jimmy Fowlie’s fun web series Go-Go Boy Interrupted, which saw Jimmy’s Danny back but struggling, trying to get by being a go-go-boy during lunchtime at a dive bar. By the end he was ready to get his old job back – but didn’t know if they’d want him.

Now it’s time for Episode 3, where Danny comes up against two new go-go boys who are ‘masc’ and nobody is knows what their sexuality if. It’s time then for Danny to show off his masculine side and see if he can pass in that world.

Tough Love S3 Ep4 – Steven gets involved with birthdays, boys, & bad male strippers

April 19, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

tough-love-s3-ep4In the last couple of episodes of Tough Love, things seemed to be looking up for Steven (well, except for having to deal with a porn-filled computer), as after a false start with a muscly model he met the cute Tyler. Now it’s his birthday and time for a surprise party, although Steven isn’t exactly the most grateful party recipient, even if he can’t be totally blamed for thinking it’s all a bit lame.

Here’s the brief synopsis: ‘This week on Tough Love, the gang throws Steven the worst surprise party ever and things get pretty tense. Luckily Steven’s new guy Tyler has something sweet up his sleeve to save the day. There might also be a stripper at some point in this episode.’

So yep, things go from lame-ass party to strippers, although Will probably shouldn’t rely on getting a career as an exotic dancer. Take a look at the new episode below and click here to catch up on the rest of Season 3. [Read more…]

Gay Short Film Showcase: Weird Things Gay Couples Do – Public Vs. Private

April 19, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

weird-things-gay-couples-doDo you act differently with your boyfriend in private than you do in public (well, I presume you do in some respects, because certain bedroom activities will get you arrested if you do them in public)? If you do, then you’ll probably enjoy a fun new video from Buzzfeed Yellow, which compares a gay couple when they’re out and when they’re at home.

Some of the things it picks up on apply to many couples irrespective of their sexuality, such as the cosy, schlubby domesticity at home compared to the more formal front they show while they’re out (even if that front is a little gay). Others are more gay specific, such as worries about public displays of affection.

It certainly makes to a fun video, with a cute couple and some smile-inducing observations. Take a look at the video below.

McTucky Fried High Season 2 Trailer – The animated school of LGBTQ food is coming back

April 18, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

McTucky-Fried-High-s2-slideAn animated web series about a high school where all the students are different kinds of food, many of whom are queer, sounds a bit too kooky to be all that good. However, with its first season McTucky Fried High proved that not only could it be entertaining and fun, but could also make some very relevant point.

Now, after looking for funding a few months ago, it’s coming back with Season 2, and the trailer has arrived. Season 2 premieres June 6th, 2016, running for 7 episodes, with the season finale on July 18th, 2016. Season 1 received the Critic’s Choice Award at Shorts Showcase – Palm Springs 2016, has over 56,000 views on YouTube, screened at film festivals around the world and received plenty of praise.

The show is McTucky Fried High stands one of the only LGBTQ animated cartoons out there, and promised that, ‘Season 2 uses humor to tackle religion, racism, feminism, and STD’s while foregrounding and affirming LGBTQ characters and experiences. McTucky Fried High is leading the way with cartoons like Steven Universe, the Legend of Korra, and Gen Zed featuring specifically LGBTQ characters and story lines.

‘Creator, Director and Executive Producer Robert-Carnilius uses his own life, creative passions and community involvement in hopes of generating an entertaining, insightful and humorous cartoon. The McTucky Fried High cast and crew are also comprised predominantly of LGBTQ people and people of color, going beyond visibility by using personal empowerment to shape and create media that has a personal, political and artistic impact.’

Take a look at the trailer below. You can check out Season 1 over at the show’s website. [Read more…]

Gay Short Film Showcase: How To Get Over A Breakup – Tips to surviving the end of a gay relationship

April 12, 2016 By Tim Isaac 1 Comment

how-to-get-over-a-breakupAlthough it was only released a short time ago, the short film How To Get Over A Breakup has already been successful enough that the people behind it have decided to turn it into a web series. Creator Krishna Kumar, who’s been creating video shorts for years, has set up up an Indiegogo campaign in the hope of making more episodes.

In the meantime we have the original short film, a mix of high drama and comedy, which sees Kumar opposite some other Youtubers, such as Jared, Red Melvin, Davey Wavey and Miles Jai, trying to get some tips on how to get over a bad breakup. You can watch the film below.

Kumar told Huffpo, “Understandably, many people feel profoundly alone after the end of a romantic relationship and some give up on love as a form of extreme escapism to protect themselves from future heartbreak. What’s interesting is that when people deny themselves this integral part of life, it hurts not just themselves but also those around them. ‘How to Get Over a Breakup’ was made to support people through the struggles of a breakup whilst keeping their hearts open to new experiences. In today’s society of having instant gratification, it’s important to note that happiness takes varying amounts of time. It is not attained through someone else. Lasting happiness is intrinsic. It is exponential; it begets itself.”

Go-Go Boy Interrupted: Season 2, Episodes 1&2 – Jimmy Fowlie’s ageing gay twink makes more life changes

April 12, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

go-go-boy-interrupted-s2-ep1Jimmy Fowlie’s web series Go-Go Boy Interrupted turned out to be a big success when it debuted in late 2014, so much so that a Kickstarter for Season 2 raised almost $70,000. Not the first two episodes of that season have arrived, which see Danny (played by Fowlie) having made some changes in his life, but it’s two steps forwards two steps back, as the only job he can get is as a lunchtime go-go boy at a low rent dive. He’s no longer the cute early-20s twink who could get paid to dance at top clubs.

It’s time to try and make something of himself.

Fowlie has suggested to Queerty Season 2 was more difficult that the show’s outing, saying, “There wasn’t as much pressure the first season, since we didn’t know if anyone would watch. Plus the crew was so janky! There was a camera guy, and a sound guy.

“Season 2 there were PA’s, and a hair and make up person, a production designer, an AC (whatever the FUCK that is), a script supervisor. And on the first day I was so overwhelmed. People would be like, ‘What do you think of this outfit? What do you think of this napkin?’ and I was like ‘ahh..I don’t know.’”

Once more it’s funny and a little sexy, and there’s also space for some good cameos, including Scott Evans (Chris’ gay brother), Heather Morris, the wonderful Willam Belli, and  Brian Jordan Alvarez. Take a look below, and click here to catch up with season 1. [Read more…]

Tough Love: S3 Ep3 – What happens when you take your gay porn filled computer in for repair?

April 12, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

tough-love-s3-ep3Have you ever had to take your computer in for repair? Were you worried that the technician would find your enormous stash of porn that you like to pretend doesn’t exist? That’s the situation Steven faces in the latest episode of Tough Love.

Creator Steven Bell talks comments about what inspired the episode, “It’s possible I’m the only one who’s experienced this, but do you know that feeling when you’re laptop’s on the fritz and you know it’s going to die soon, but you still haven’t deleted all that raunchy porn off your hard drive? This episode is about what happens when your computer dies while you’re watching porn. Someone has to fix it and that person is going to see how kinky you are. I had a conversation with an Apple Store employee who said he’s seen more nudes of random people at work then he’s ever seen in his personal dating life. It’s a very humiliating, awkward situation for the repair person and the customer bringing in the computer. So of course, I wanted to make an episode about it.”

The other half of the episode follows Blaire around as she adventures into the world of exercise. She forces herself into the lunch plans of some NYC fitness ladies and things get really awkward.

Bell continues, “This episode is called Shame. It’s one of my favorites of the season. We get to see both Steven and Blaire in very humiliating circumstances and I would say this is our most character defining episode yet.”

Take a look below and click here to catch up on the rest of Season 3.

The episode also features two notable guest stars. Beth Hoyt (Inside Amy Schumer, Brooklyn Nine Nine, High Maintenance) and Angela Struck (Louie, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver). [Read more…]

Gay Short Film Showcase: Bound & Thrashed – Will S&M uncover a new side to a young gay man?

April 11, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

bound-and-thrashedBound & Thrashed may not be the most polished film we’ve ever featured, but it certainly raises some interesting questions and at times is pretty sexy. It explores what happens when a young man is asked to push his sexual boundaries by becoming the dominant in some S&M play, something he’s not initially comfortable with, as well as questioning what it is to be a man.

Here’s the synopsis from IMDB: ‘Bound And Thrashed is a story which echoes the idea that its not until we are put in a situation that may seen unnatural to us, that we can truly uncover what we desire and what we are capable of. Nathan (Andrew Hood) is depressed and unable to move on from a former lover, his concerned friend Tess (London Gabraelle) persuades him into going on a blind date with Geoffrey (John Cunningham), an older man who has an unusual appetite. Nathans encounter with Geoffrey ultimately assists him in moving on from the past and leads him to self discovery and sexual fulfillment
