Carey Mulligan has come from seemingly nowhere to star in a slew of movies, each of which seems to be more critically acclimed than the next. It seems that she’s planning to keep with the quality as Variety reports she has lined up starring roles with Inside Llewyn Davis and the Spike Jonze’s upcoming movie (which is currently untitled).
Joel Coen and Ethan Coen are writing and directing Inside Llewyn Davis, which recently signed Oscar Isaac for the lead role. The story is based on the life of folk musician Dave van Ronk, and centers on a folk artist struggling to make it in the 1960s music scene. It isn’t known what role Carey Mulligan will play – indeed not much is known about the movie in general.
The Spike Jonze movie meanwhile will reunite the director with Being John Malkovish and Adaptation writer Charlie Kaufman. As witht eh Coens’ movie, everything it still slightly wrapped in mystery, but it’ll centre on a group of world leaders who meet to shape the face of global events. Joaquin Phoenix will also star.
Carey Mulligan will start shooting Inside Llewyn Davis in February, and then jump to the Untitled Spike Jonze Project sometime next spring.
