The Coen Brothers are incredibly busy casting their next movie, with barely a day going by without a new name added to the list. Now Showbiz411 reports that John Goodman has joined the cast of Inside Llewyn Davis, although it isn’t known what role he will play.
The story is loosely based on the life of New York folk singer Dave van Ronk, who was a Greenwich Village staple in the 1960s. Oscar Isaac will star as the title character. Just yesterday we reported that Justin Timberlake has been offered the role of Jim, a folk singer married to Carey Mulligan’s character, Jean.
Joel Coen and Ethan Coen are directing Inside Llewyn Davis from their own script, which is partially based on Dave van Ronk’s memoir, The Mayor of MacDougal Street. Shooting is set to begin early next year.
