Wonder Wheel Trailer – Justin Timberlake & Kate Winslet get together for Woody Allen

October 4, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

With the likes of Manchester By The Sea, Amazon has shown that they can produce some interesting films. Now they’re teaming with Woody Allen for his next movie, Wonder Wheel, which is due to premiere soon at the New York Film Festival, before getting an Oscar-friendly December 1st, 2017 US release.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Four peoples’ lives intertwine amid the hustle and bustle of the Coney Island amusement park in the 1950s: Ginny, an emotionally volatile former actress now working as a waitress in a clam house; Humpty, Ginny’s rough-hewn carousel operator husband; Mickey, a handsome young lifeguard who dreams of becoming a playwright; and Carolina, Humpty’s long-estranged daughter, who is now hiding out from gangsters at her father’s apartment.’

Kate Winslet, Justin Timberlake, Jim Belushi, and Juno Temple star in the film. You can take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

Trolls Trailer – Anna Kendrick & Justin Timberlake help the 70s fad get animated

June 29, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Trolls-Teaser-QuadIn the old days it was just book and TV shows that had a shot of being turned into movies, but now Hollywood has realised the pretty much anything is fair game, as long as it’s something that was popular at some point. Trolls, though, is an odd one, as there are plenty of kids around now whose parents are too young to remember the fuzzy haired figures’ heyday in the 70s. Admittedly though back then they were so popular that no youngster could expect to be seen as cool without a Troll pencil topper.

However, Dreamworks Animation isn’t letting the fact they were most popular 40-years-ago to stand in their way, and have now released a full trailer for their Trolls movie.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘DreamWorks’ TROLLS is a hair-raising comedy filled with unbelievable adventure and incredible music.  Known for their crazy, colourful, and magical hair, Trolls are the happiest, most joyous creatures ever to burst into song. But their world of rainbows and cupcakes is changed forever, when their leader Poppy (Anna Kendrick,) must embark on a rescue mission that takes her far beyond the only world she’s ever known.’

The voice cast also features Justin Timberlake, James Corden, Kunal Nayyar, Gwen Stefani, Russell Brand, and Ron Founts. It’ll be in UK cinemas in October. [Read more…]

Inside Llewyn Davis (Blu-ray Review)

May 27, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake
Director: Joel Coen, Ethan Coen
Running Time: 104 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: May 26th 2014 (UK)

It just goes to show how useful it is to have a ‘name’ in the film world. If most filmmakers had said they wanted to make a movie about a misanthropic 1960s folk singer who spends the first 25 minutes of the film trying to get a cat back to its owner, they’d have been laughed out of the room. However the Coen Brothers have the sort of clout that can get things done.

And while not one of their best, Inside Llewyn Davis is not a bad movie at all. [Read more…]

Craig Brewer (Footloose, Black Snake Moan) may be teaming up with producer Justin Timberlake, as he is in talks to helm MGM’s remake of The Idolmaker, according to Variety.

The film is based Taylor Hackford’s 1980 drama which starred Ray Sharkey as legendary music promoter and manager Bob Marcucci, who discovered talented acts such as Frankie Avalon and Fabian. The Idolmaer focuses on Marcucci when he tries to turn two teenage boys into the next big stars. It isn’t known yet whether Timberlake will star as well as produce.

News about the remake first emerged in February 2011, when it was mentionedas one of several movies MGM was planning on remaking, along with the likes of Robocop, Mr. Mom and Poltergeist. Shortly afterwards Ryan Gosling attached himself to star and make his directorial debut with the movie, but he is no longer involved with the project.

Spike Lee May Be Spinning Gold With Justin Timberlake

October 31, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

spike-leeIn a few weeks we’ll get to see what Spike Lee’s take on Park Chan Wook’s Oldboy is like. However he’s already planning for the future, as THR reports he’s been approached to direct Spinning Gold, which has had Justin Timberlake attached to star and produce since 2011.

Spinning Gold is set to chronicle the life of Neil Bogart, who founded Casablanca Records in 1974 and is credited with discovering, launching and nurturing the careers of a generation of music superstars. KISS, Parliament, Donna Summer, and The Village People were just a few of the acts on the roster of Casablanca Records, whose sound and image would come to define 70s pop culture.

Neil’s son, Timothy Scott Bogart, is penning the script, and will also produce the film alongside his brother, Evan “Kidd” Bogart. There’s no info on when it might go in front of the cameras.

New Inside Llewyn Davis Trailer – Fresh look at the Coen Brothers’ new movie

August 22, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

If they’d stuck to the original plan, Inside Llewyn Davis would have already been and gone from cinemas, but it was pushed back to a Christmas US release in the hope of getting some awards recognition. Now we get a new taste of the Coen Brothers’ film with a new trailer.

Oscar Isaac stars as the title character, a folk singer making his way through the Greenwich Village music scene in the 1960s. The movie is loosely based on the life of folk singer Dave Van Ronk. Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, Gerrett Hedlund, and John Goodman also star.

It certainly looks stylish, with plenty of the Coens’ trademark sharp dialogue, although it’s definitely one of their more idiosyncratic efforts. The film will be out in US on December 20th, with a January 2014 opening set for the UK. [Read more…]

New Inside Llewyn Davis Trailer – Fresh look at the Coen Brothers’ latest

July 2, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A new red trailer for the Coen Brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis has debuted, which certainly shows off the directors’ flair, even if it is something a little different than most people expect from them (although if you look at their filmography, they are more eclectic than most give them credit for).

The film debuted at Cannes and will get an Oscar-bait end of year cinema release in the US, with a January 2014 opening set for the UK.
