Wonder Wheel Trailer – Justin Timberlake & Kate Winslet get together for Woody Allen

October 4, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

With the likes of Manchester By The Sea, Amazon has shown that they can produce some interesting films. Now they’re teaming with Woody Allen for his next movie, Wonder Wheel, which is due to premiere soon at the New York Film Festival, before getting an Oscar-friendly December 1st, 2017 US release.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Four peoples’ lives intertwine amid the hustle and bustle of the Coney Island amusement park in the 1950s: Ginny, an emotionally volatile former actress now working as a waitress in a clam house; Humpty, Ginny’s rough-hewn carousel operator husband; Mickey, a handsome young lifeguard who dreams of becoming a playwright; and Carolina, Humpty’s long-estranged daughter, who is now hiding out from gangsters at her father’s apartment.’

Kate Winslet, Justin Timberlake, Jim Belushi, and Juno Temple star in the film. You can take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

Kate Winslet Reteaming With James Cameron For Avatar Sequels

October 4, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

With shooting finally starting of James Cameron’s sequels to Avatar, a few new cast members are coming onboard to join the likes of Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Signourney Weaver (or at least their motion-captured forms). Now Deadline reports that one of the newcomers will be Kate Winslet, who’ll reteam with Cameron for the first time since Titanic.

The director says, “Kate and I have been looking for something to do together for 20 years, since our collaboration on Titanic, which was one of the most rewarding of my career. I can’t wait to see her bring the character of Ronal to life.”

What Cameron doesn’t reveal though is who Ronal is and how she fits into the movie. There have been few story details released, although it’s known he’s planning four sequels to be released between 2020 and 2025. The stories will introduce us to Jake Sully and Neytiri’s children, as well as other tribes of Na’vi such as the Metkayina, who live on oceanic atoll reefs.

When they realise help is not coming, they embark on a terrifying journey across hundreds of miles of wilderness, pushing one another to endure and igniting an unexpected attraction. New Collateral Beauty Trailer – Will Smith is forced to confront his grief by a great cast

November 11, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

collateral-beautyThis one certainly looks like it might be a bit of Oscar-bait from Will Smith and director David Frankel (Dear Diary, The Devil Wears Prada), working with a very impressive cast. It may also be hoping to jerk some tears with its magical realism over the Christmas period.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘When a successful New York advertising executive (Will Smith) experiences a deep personal tragedy and retreats from life entirely, his colleagues devise a drastic plan to force him to confront his grief in a surprising and profoundly human way.

‘“Collateral Beauty” features an all-star cast, including Will Smith (“Suicide Squad,” “Concussion”), Edward Norton (“Birdman or [The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance]”), Keira Knightley (“The Imitation Game”), Michael Peña (“The Martian”), Naomie Harris (“Spectre”), Jacob Latimore (“The Maze Runner”), with Oscar winners Kate Winslet (“The Reader,” “Steve Jobs”) and Helen Mirren (“The Queen,” “Trumbo”).’

The movie is set to his UK cinemas on December 26th. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

The Dressmaker Trailer – Chic Kate Winslet heads for the Aussie outback & a hunky Luke Hemsworth

August 27, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

dressmaker-liam-hemsworthThe Dressmaker looks like it could be quite fun, and those who like Luke Hemsworth looking hunky should be pleased too.

Steve Jobs (DVD Review)

March 20, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, Michael Stuhlbarg, Katherine Waterston
Director: Danny Boyle
Running Time: 122 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: March 21st 2016 (UK)

I’m starting to think that screenwriter Aaron Sorkin has decided he’s a complete prick, and so has set out to write things that suggest that being the best and being an ass go hand-in-hand. The likes of The Social Network, Steve Jobs and, to some extent, The Newsroom and Studio 60 On Sunset Strip have all forwarded this agenda. Rumours suggest Sorkin can be incredibly demanding and difficult to work with (stories of how tough it was in the writer’s room of The West Wing and how little he listened to other peoples’ ideas are legendary), and it’s oddly interesting how so many of his projects seem to be about his own issues with this.

What he never quite addresses though is something he puts in the mouth of Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak in Steven Jobs, who tells the demanding and difficult Steve that being talented and being a decent person are not mutually exclusive. However, in the world of Aaron Sorkin, it often feels like they are. [Read more…]

Kate Winslet May Find Collateral Beauty Alongside Will Smith

February 11, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

kate-winslet

The cast for the the Will Smith movie Collateral Beauty is coming together fast, as just a couple of day after it was revealed Keira Knightley was in talks for the movie, Variety says Kate Winslet has started negotiations to appear in the movie.

The film is about a New York advertising executive (Smith) who experiences a deep personal tragedy. When his colleagues devise an unconventional plan to break him out of his depression, the plan works, but not in a way that anyone imagined. The likes of Helen Mirren, Ed Norton, Michael Pena and Naomie Harris are also attached to star.

Alongside the more conventional elements, there are also actors playing walking embodiments of Love, Time, and Death. It’s not known who Winslet will play, but with Knightley set to be Love, there’s a decent chance she’ll be either Time or Death.

The movie starts shooting in the next couple of weeks in New York City, with David Frankel directing from a script by Allan Loeb. A December 2016 US release is already set, which suggests they’re already thinking this may be an awards contender.

Triple 9 Trailer – Chitwetel Ejiofor, Casey Affleck, Kate Winslet, Woody Harrelson & Aaron Paul star

November 11, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Triple-9---trailer-grab-1Triple 9, from The Road and Lawless director John Hillcoat certainly has a good cast, including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Casey Affleck, Kate Winslet, Woody Harrelson, Aaron Paul, Anthony Mackie, Norman Reedus, Gal Gadot and Clifton Collins Jr.

Now we get our first taste with a trailer, which you can watch below.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘When a crew of dirty cops is blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist, they realise the only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for “officer down”. The chaos that ensues when a police officer is shot in the line of duty is just the diversion they’ll need to do the job, but whether they have the will to kill one of their own is an entirely different matter, triggering a breakneck, action packed finale tangled with double-crosses, greed and revenge.’

The film is due out in the UK on February 19th, 2016.
