Warner Bros obviously has confidence in Man Of Steel (and some of the first reviews suggest they have reason to), as they’re already moving forward with Man Of Steel 2. They’ve locked in director Zack Snyder and screenwriter David S. Goyer to make it happen, according to Deadline.
It isn’t known whether Christopher Nolan will be back as a producer. He helped shepherd the Man of Steel story with David S. Goyer, receiving both a story credit on the screenplay and a producing credit. Insiders suggest that even if Christopher Nolan does return as producer, his involvement will not be as “full blown” as his work on the first film, partly because he’ll be busy for the next year or so working on Interstellar, a sci-fi thriller starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, and Michael Caine.
Goyer’s three-picture deal with Warner Bros. includes Man of Steel, this upcoming sequel, and Justice League. Whether we’ll get the last of those will be determined by the box office success of Man of Steel, although even then we have to wait a while, as it’s been suggested that Warner may want a Man Of Steel sequel and a Batman reboot before Justice League.
