It may be the 21st Century, but a lot of the time it’s still true that when an actress becomes a mother, they tend to take fewer film roles (while the husbands continue as if nothing had happened). That seems to be true of Bryce Dallas Howard, who’s only made a few film in the last few years and they’ve tended to be supporting roles in movies such as Twilight: Eclipse, The Help and 50/50.
However it looks like she may be jumping into a lead role in Jurassic World according to TheWrap. The only details known about the film is that it will a brand new dinosaur and will return to Isla Nublar, the island from the first movie. It’s rumoured that by the time the film begins the disaster of Jurassic Park has been forgotten and it’s operating as a theme park. Unsurprisingly, things go terribly wrong.
David Oyelowo, and Garrett Hedlund has also been said to be in contention for role, but it’s not certainly is Universal is still courting them. However Howard is said to be in full negotiations.
Colin Trevorrow is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with his Safety Not Guaranteed collaborator Derek Connolly. A June 12th, 2015 release has been set.
