Emma Watson and Daniel Bruhl have found themselves new roles as they’re teaming up for the period thriller Colonia, which is set during a Chilean military coup in 1973, according to THR.
Bruhl will play the German Daniel, who gets arrested by dictator Augusto Pinochet’s secret police and is taken to a secret place with his friends and family not knowing what has happened to his. His lover Lena (Watson) tracks him down to a sealed-off area in the south of Chile, known as Colonia Digignad.
Officially it’s a charitable mission run by a preacher, but that’s just a sinister front for what is in reality a torture and detention centre from which few people ever leave.
Florian Gallenberger direct the movie, which has already started filming.
