There’s been a lot of talk in the US about the possible effects of playing American Football on the brain, and whether having a career in the game can have massive repercussions for the players.
Concussion wants to take a long, hard look at the subject, with the movie following ‘Dr.BennetOmalu (Will Smith) who – after studying the brains of ex-pros such as Dave Duerson (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) and Andre Waters (Richard T. Jones) – discovers that they were suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a neuro-degenerative disease caused by repeated trauma to the head.
‘The film also stars Luke Wilson as NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, and Albert Brooks and Alec Baldwin as doctors who help Dr.Omaluin his fight for the truth to be known.’
The first trailer has now arrived, which you can watch below.
