The Boss Baby Teaser – A young boy gets a very unusual baby brother

October 18, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

the-boss-baby-teaser-quadA new baby can often cause jealousy with older siblings, but things go a bit further than that in The Boss Baby, where the new addition to the family wears a suit, carries a briefcase, and can talk. Take a look at the trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘DreamWorks Animation and the director of Madagascar invite you to meet a most unusual baby.  He wears a suit, speaks with the voice and wit of Alec Baldwin, and stars in the animated comedy, DreamWorks’ The Boss Baby.  The Boss Baby is a hilariously universal story about how a new baby’s arrival impacts a family, told from the point of view of a delightfully unreliable narrator, a wildly imaginative 7 year old named Tim.  With a sly, heart-filled message about the importance of family, DreamWorks’ The Boss Baby is an authentic and broadly appealing original comedy for all ages.’

The Boss Baby will be in UK cinemas in next April. [Read more…]

Concussion Trailer – Will Smith takes on American Football brain trauma

August 31, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

will-smithThere’s been a lot of talk in the US about the possible effects of playing American Football on the brain, and whether having a career in the game can have massive repercussions for the players.

Concussion wants to take a long, hard look at the subject, with the movie following ‘Dr.BennetOmalu (Will Smith) who – after studying the brains of ex-pros such as Dave Duerson (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) and Andre Waters (Richard T. Jones) – discovers that they were suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a neuro-degenerative disease caused by repeated trauma to the head.

‘The film also stars Luke Wilson as NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, and Albert Brooks and Alec Baldwin as doctors who help Dr.Omaluin his fight for the truth to be known.’

The first trailer has now arrived, which you can watch below. [Read more…]

Blue Jasmine (Blu-ray)

February 16, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Cate Blanchett, Sally Hawkins, Alex Baldwin, Andrew Dice Clay, Bobby Cannavale
Director: Woody Allen
Running Time: 98 mins
Certificate: 12
Release Date: February 17th 2014

A couple of weeks ago Cate Blanchett looked like a shoe-in for the Best Actress Oscar, although that’s been thrown in the air in the fallout from Dylan Farrow’s renewed accusations against Woody Allen, which specifically called out Blanchett for working with him. However while the Allen issues are troubling, Cate’s performance is magnificent and deserving of an Academy Award.

She is the Jasmine of the title (who’s actually Jeanette, but has renamed herself) who is newly arrived in San Francisco to stay with her sister, Ginger (Sally Hawkins). She’s not there because she wants to be, but because following her husband’s (Alex Baldwin) imprisonment for fraud and subsequent suicide, the government has taken every penny she had. [Read more…]

Glengarry Glen Ross (Blu-ray/DVD)

October 22, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Kevin Spacey, Alex Baldwin, Ed Harris
Director: James Foley
Running Time: 100 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: October 22nd 2012

Glengarry Glen Ross is proof of what can happen when you put a great script in the hands of an ensemble of dynamite actors. In many ways Glengarry Glen Ross shouldn’t work. It’s largely about people sitting around talking, has minimal plot, and never fully escapes the stage that David Mamet’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play was originally presented on.

However, what in many films would be seen as shortcomings are here the movie’s greatest strengths, as it allows the film to concentrate on the electric dynamism of Mamet’s dialogue in the hands of one of the best groups of actors ever assembled for a film (even Jack Lemmon said it was the best cast he’d ever been involved with, which is saying something). After all, it contains four Oscar-winners and two more Oscar nominees, which is certainly an impressive line-up, especially as likes of Kevin Spacey weren’t that well known when it was made. To Rome With Love Trailer

April 4, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

After the wonderful Midnight In Paris last year, it’s fingers crossed that Woody Allen can continue his winning streak while simultaneously continuing his European tour, this time heading to Italy for To Rome With Love. The trailer doesn’t exactly make the plot clear, although it will follow a number of people in Italy, some American, some Italian, some residents, some visitors, and the romances and adventures and predicaments they get into. Woody stars alongside Ellen Page, Jesse Eisenberg, Penelope Cruz, Alex Baldwin and Roberto Benigni. No UK release is currently set, but it’ll be out later this year.
