Universal Studios is lacking superhero franchise it can build into an interconnected universe, but with a history of monster movies stretching back to the 1930s, they’re hoping they build a universe around those. To help they’ve lined up some big names, with Johnny Depp as the Invisible Man, Russell Crowe as Dr. Jeykll and Tom Cruise facing off against The Mummy.
The last of those will be the first to arrive (with Crowe also featuring in the movie), and now the first poster have arrived, along with a brief video tease, to prepare us for the trailer that’s due to arrive over the weekend.
Here’s the brief synopsis: ‘The Mummy stars Tom Cruise, joined by a cast including Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Star Trek Beyond), Annabelle Wallis (upcoming King Arthur, TV’s Peaky Blinders), Jake Johnson (Jurassic World), Courtney B. Vance (TV’s American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson), Oscar® winner Russell Crowe (Gladiator) and will be directed by Alex Kurtzman.’
It’ll be in cinemas June 9th, 2017.
