I Feel Pretty Trailer – Amy Schumer finds confidence she never knew she had

February 12, 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

At one point Amy Schumer was going to play a Barbie who wasn’t beautiful enough for Barbie-land. Now she’s coming at a similar theme from a different angle with I Feel Pretty.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In I FEEL PRETTY, Amy Schumer stars as Renee Barrett – a woman who struggles with feelings of insecurity and inadequacy on a daily basis. After suffering a fall at a spin class, she wakes up believing she is suddenly the most beautiful and capable woman on the planet. With this newfound confidence she is empowered to live her life fearlessly and flawlessly, but what will happen when she realizes her appearance never changed?’

You can take a look at the trailer below. I Feel Pretty will be released in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on 6th July 2018. [Read more…]

Anne Hathaway Is Thinking Of Replacing Amy Schumer In The Barbie Movie

July 26, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

When it was first announced, many people thought a movie about Barbie sounded like a hideous idea. However, the fact it had Amy Schumer attached and a more feminist plot that you might have expected made people a little more interested. However, then Schumer dropped out.

Now though, a replacement may have been found, and it may be a smart choice. Deadline reports that Anne Hathaway is circling the role, and may well sign on.

If she does take the role, ‘Hathaway would play a character who lives in Barbieland, where she gets kicked out basically because she’s not perfect enough, is a bit eccentric and doesn’t quite fit the mold. She then goes on an adventure in the real world, and by the time she returns to Barbieland to save it, she has gained the realization that perfection comes on the inside, not the outside, and that the key to happiness is belief in oneself, free of the obligation to adhere to some unattainable standard of perfection.’

Alethea Jones (Lemonade Stand) is in talks to direct the movie, which is being planned as a PG rated family adventure. The studio is also apparently still eyeing a June 2018 release.

June 20, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Miles Teller has a knack for getting interesting roles. He’s got another one with Thank You For Your Service, which has just dropped a new trailer.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE follows a group of U.S. soldiers returning from Iraq who struggle to integrate back into family and civilian life, while living with the memory of a war that threatens to destroy them long after they’ve left the battlefield. The gripping drama is based on the bestselling book by Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter and author David Finkel.

‘Jon Kilik (The Hunger Games series, Babel) produces the film, while Ann Ruark (Biutiful) executive produces. The cast includes Miles Teller, Haley Bennett, Joe Cole, Amy Schumer, Beulah Koale, Scott Haze, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Brad Beyer, Omar J. Dorsey and Jayson Warner Smith.’

Snatched Trailer – Amy Schumer & Goldie Hawn find getting kidnapped a bonding experience

February 9, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Goldie Hawn hasn’t been seen on screen since 2002’s The Banger Sisters, but now she’s getting back in the game and starring alongside Amy Schumer in Snatched. Wanda Sykes, Ike Barinholtz, Christopher Meloni, and Randall Park are also along for the ride.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘After her boyfriend dumps her on the eve of their exotic vacation, impetuous dreamer Emily Middleton (Amy Schumer) persuades her ultra-cautious mother, Linda (Goldie Hawn) to travel with her to paradise. Polar opposites, Emily and Linda realize that working through their differences as mother and daughter – in unpredictable, hilarious fashion – is the only way to escape the wildly outrageous jungle adventure they have fallen into.’

The film is due out in May. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

Amy Schumer Is In Talks To Be The Live-Action Barbie

December 3, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

amy-schumerBack in 2014 it was revealed that Sony & Mattel were working on a live-action Barbie movie. If you’d drawn up a list of the actresses you might have expected to nab the lead role, Amy Schumer probably wouldn’t have been on it, as she doesn’t exactly fit into the Barbie stereotypes. However, Variety reports she’s in talks for the role, and while she may not immediately seem an obvious fit, the funny woman is a smart choice.

A live-action Barbie movie was always likely to run into trouble unless it could divorce itself from the idea of the toy many people have – a woman only interested in fashion, looking pretty, having a hunky Ken, and the material things in life. Having Schumer on board should ensure the movie can play with those ideas, while have a few smart, funny things to say about them.

Hilary Winston wroted the initial script, but it’s believed it’ll now be handed over to Schumer and her sister, Kim Caramele, for retooling. The more is said to be, ‘in the vein of “Splash”, “Enchanted” and “Big.” In it, the main character gets kicked out of Barbieland for not being perfect enough and lands in a real-world adventure.’

The film’s due out summer 2018.

Judd Apatow Will Direct Amy Schumer In A Train Wreck

November 27, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

judd-apatowKnocked Up and This Is 40 helmer Judd Apatow has decided on his next film as he has signed on to direct Train Wreck, which already has Amy Schumer attached to star, according to THR.

Schumer will play ‘a basket case who tries to rebuild her life, but still to be found are her boyfriend, a best friend/co-worker and a parent.’

She may not be particularly well known, but Apatow must have confidence in her, especially as this is the film movie he’ll direct that he didn’t also write. Judd is currently seeking actors to play the her boyfriend, best friend/co-worker and one of her parents. He has apparently met with actors in Los Angeles for these parts, while Amy Schumer and producer Barry Mendel are also holding casting sessions in New York.

Schumer is best known for her hit Comedy Central series Inside Amy Schumer. She has also appeared in films such as Sleepwalk with Me, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World and Price Check.
