Meet Team Iron Man In More Captain America: Civil War Character Posters

March 8, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

captain-america-civil-war-character7-slideYesterday we were introduced to Team Cap with a set of six character posters. Now it’s time to see who they’ll be up against with posters for Team Iron Man. The heroes are ready for battle, with Iron Man, Vision, War Machine, Black Panther and Black Widow up against Captain America and his crew.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.’

The movie hits cinema in May. Take a look at the new posters below.

Captain America: Civil War Super Bowl Spot – New footage emerges from Avengers 2.5

February 8, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

captain-america-civil-war-poster1-slidePretty much everyone from Avengers is showing up in Captain America: Civil War, except for Thor and Hulk (but that’s because they’re teaming up for their own adventure). As a result, Marvel is hoping the film is going to be huge and so it’s no suprise they felt the need for a Super Bowl spot, which you can take a look at below.

Synopsis: ‘Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

‘The movie stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Frank Grillo, Tom Holland, with William Hurt and Daniel Brühl. Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” is directed by Anthony & Joe Russo and produced by Kevin Feige. Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Patricia Whitcher, Nate Moore and Stan Lee serve as executive producers and the screenplay is by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely.’

New Gods Of Egypt Trailer – Gerard Butler, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau walk like Egyptians

December 16, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

god-of-egypt-trailer-slideWhen the first trailer for Gods Of Egypt debuted a few weeks ago, the main reaction was, ‘WTF’? That’s not just because it looked completely insane and weird, but also due to the fact all the Egyptian gods are played by white people (plus one token Black dude). The latter even resulted in the studio and director issuing an apology and saying they should have done better with the racial diversity.

While they may have admitted they should have done things differently, they’ve still got a movie to bring out, and so a new trailer has now arrived, which it has to be said suggests the film may actually have a few interesting things about it – although it’s still pretty nuts and white-washy. Take a look below.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The survival of mankind hangs in the balance as an unexpected mortal hero Bek (Brenton Thwaites) undertakes a thrilling journey to save the world. In order to succeed, he must enlist the help of the powerful and vengeful god Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) in an unlikely alliance against Set (Gerard Butler), the merciless god of darkness, who has usurped Egypt’s throne, plunging the once peaceful and prosperous empire into chaos and conflict.

‘As their breathtaking battle against Set and his henchmen takes them into the afterlife and across the heavens, both god and mortal must pass tests of courage and sacrifice if they hope to prevail in the epic final confrontation.’

The film is due out in 2016.

Captain America: Civil War Trailer – Chris Evans & Robert Downey Jr. are no longer friends

November 25, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

captain-america-civil-war-poster1-slideIt may have Captain America in the name, but Civil War is almost as much of an Avengers movie as Age Of Ultron. Only Thor and Hulk are missing – but they will both be in Thor: Ragnarok, so they haven’t been forgotten completely.

Now three posters and a first trailer for Captain America: Civil War are here.

Gods Of Egypt Teaser Trailer – Gerard Butler, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau & more get their gods on

November 17, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

gods-of-egypt-character-poster1-slideAfter some character posters arrived last year, the teaser trailer for Alex Proyas’ Gods Of Egypt has arrived, and it looks like a slightly insane live-action cartoon. It could be a lot of fun, or just totally crazy – but at least it teaches us the surprising lesson that nearly everyone in Ancient Egypt was white.

Gerard Butler, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau & More Get Gods Of Egypt Character Posters

November 15, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

gods-of-egypt-character-poster1-slideGods Of Egypt certainly isn’t a movie that will satisfy those who accuse Hollywood of white-washing everything, as despite being about Egyptian gods, there are an awful lot of pale-looking people in the movie, as evidenced by a set of new posters, with only Chadwick Boseman representing those whose ancestors probably were in Africa several thousand years ago (although probably in a different part of the continent).

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Magic, monsters, gods and madness reign throughout the palaces and pyramids of the Nile River Valley in this action-adventure inspired by the classic mythology of Egypt. With the survival of mankind hanging in the balance, an unexpected hero takes a thrilling journey to save the world and rescue his true love. Set (Gerard Butler), the merciless god of darkness, has usurped Egypt’s throne, plunging the once peaceful and prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. With only a handful of heroic rebels opposing Set’s savage rule, Bek (Brenton Thwaites), a bold and defiant mortal, enlists the aid of powerful god Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) in an unlikely alliance against the evil overlord. As their breathtaking battle against Set and his henchmen take them into the afterlife and across the heavens, both god and mortal must pass tests of courage and sacrifice if they hope to prevail in the spectacular final confrontation.’

Alex Proyas directs the movie, which from the evidence of these posters looks a bit mental. It’s due out in February, so expect a trailer very soon.

Take a look below at the posters which feature Gerard Butler, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Chadwick Boseman, Elodie Yung, Courtney Eaton, and Brenton Thwaites.

Chadwick Boseman Takes On James Brown In Tate Taylor’s Musical Biopic

August 27, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

chadwick-bosemanFor a while now Universal Pictures has been working on a currently Untitled James Brown Biopic. Now they’ve found their Godfather of Soul, as Variety reports that 42 star Chadwick Boseman is set to star.

Tate Taylor (the openly gay director of The Help) is on board to helm the movie, which will follow Brown’s rise from extreme poverty as a child in North Carolina to becoming one of the most iconic musicians of all time. Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer has been trying to get this James Brown biopic off the ground for more than a decade, with the project only now getting the green light with Universal signed up and happy with the budget.

Jez Butterworth (Fair Game) and John-Henry Butterworth wrote the screenplay, with Brian Grazer producing alongside The Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger and Erica Huggins (Flightplan). It’s not clear when it might shoot.

Chadwick Boseman & Ellen Burstyn Join Kevin Costner In Draft Day

April 22, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

chadwick-bosemanChadwick Boseman’s star has risen significantly in the last couple of weeks, thanks to his lead role as Jackie Robinson in 42. Now he’s got a new part, and he’s sticking with sports, as THR reports he’s is in talks to join Kevin Costner in Draft Day. The trade also adds that veteran actress Ellen Burstyn is set to star too.

Kevin Costner will play the general manager of a struggling NFL team, who grapples with his personal and professional choices one day before the NFL American Football draft. Chadwick Boseman will play the integral role of a linebacker from Louisiana, whose entire livelihood depends on his selection in the draft. Burstyn meanwhile will play Costner’s mother, whose football coach husband recently passed away. Jennifer Garner, Denis Leary, and Frank Langella are also attached to star.

Ivan Reitman is directing from a screenplay by Rajiv Joseph, which landed the top spot on the 2012 Black List. Production is scheduled to begin this week in New York, where they will capture actual footage from this year’s NFL Draft, before moving on to continue shooting in Cleveland.
