I severely doubt that when they were making The Conjuring anyone thought that a few years later it would become a ridiculously popular franchise with an ever growing parade of spin-offs. Now a new one is coming in the form of The Nun.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in “The Conjuring 2,” as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.
‘“The Nun” stars Oscar nominated Demian Bichir (“A Better Life”) as Father Burke, Taissa Farmiga (TV’s “American Horror Story”) as Sister Irene, and Jonas Bloquet (“Elle”) as local villager Frenchie. The cast also includes Charlotte Hope (TV’s “Game of Thrones”) as the abbey’s Sister Victoria, Ingrid Bisu (“Toni Erdmann”) as Sister Oana, and Bonnie Aarons, reprising her “Conjuring 2” role as the title character.’
The movie will be in cinemas in September. Take a look at the trailer and teaser poster below. [Read more…]
Synopsis: In THE HATEFUL EIGHT, set six or eight or twelve years after the Civil War, a stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. The passengers, bounty hunter John Ruth (Russell) and his fugitive Daisy Domergue (Leigh), race towards the town of Red Rock where Ruth, known in these parts as “The Hangman,” will bring Domergue to justice.
After throwing his toys out of the pram and saying he wasn’t go to make the movie, due to a script leak, Quentin Tarantino changed his mind and The Hateful Eight is now in the can and heading for a Christmas release.
Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is having a busy week, as she’s in the running for the female lead in Captain America 2 and has also just signed on to star in Don Hemingway.
