New Beautiful Creatures Trailer – Alice Englert heads for Southern gothic fantasy

November 16, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s getting a bit witchy in the Deep South in Beautiful Creatures, with a young woman (Alice Englert) knowing that she’s a ‘caster’ and that on her 18th birthday she’ll be claimed for either the powers of dark or light. Based on Kami Garcia’s novel.

Beautiful Creatures is about two star-crossed teenage lovers: Ethan (Alden Ehrenreich), a local boy, and a mysterious new girl, Lena (Alice Englert), who uncover dark secrets about their respective families, their history and their town, which could result in a power shift towards the forces of darkness. Beautiful Creatures is the first of a five book series, so the Warner Bros. will be hoping the movie is a success so they can line up some sequels.

The cast also includes Emma Thompson, Emmy Rossum, Jeremy Irons and Viola Davis. It hits cinemas on February 13th 2013. It certainly looks like it could be pretty good, with a strong cast who can sell the more far-fetched aspects of the plot.

Josh Duhamel Says You’re Not You Alongside Hilary Swank

October 31, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Hilary Swank and Emmy Rossum are already set for the life-affirming drama You’re Not You, and now they’ve been joined by Transformers star Josh Duhamel, according to THR.

Rossum will portray a selfish college student who gets a new purpose in life when she takes a job caring for a woman (Hilary Swank) afflicted with ALS, aka Motor Neurone Disease. What hasn’t been revealed though is how Duhamel will factor into this, although what’s the betting he’s some sort of love interest for one of the women?

George C. Wolfe (Nights in Rodanthe) is directing from a screenplay by Shana Feste and Jordan Roberts, based on Michelle Wildgen’s debut novel. Although the cast is coming together, it isn’t clear when the film might shoot.

October 23, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Last month Hilary Swank signed up to star in the disability drama, You’re Not You, which sounds a bit like a female version of Untouchable. Now THR reports she’s got some company in the form of Shameless star Emmy Rossum.

Rossum will portray a selfish college student who gets a new purpose in life when she takes a job caring for a woman (Hilary Swank) afflicted with ALS, aka Motor Neurone Disease. George C. Wolfe (Nights in Rodanthe) is directing from a screenplay by Shana Feste and Jordan Roberts, based on Michelle Wildgen’s debut novel.

It isn’t clear when the movie might shoot. Rossum will next be seen in Warner Bros.’ Beautiful Creatures, which arrives in cinemas early next year.
