While there are a lot of people excited about Suicide Squad, it’s one of the big unknowns of the summer, and it’s likely that after seeing these new character posters, a lot of people still won’t know what to think. What it certainly continues to do is suggest this isn’t going to be a typical comic book movie.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘From director David Ayer (“Fury,” “End of Watch”) comes “Suicide Squad,” starring Oscar nominee Will Smith (“Ali,” “The Pursuit of Happyness”), Oscar winner Jared Leto (“Dallas Buyers Club”), Margot Robbie (“The Wolf of Wall Street,” “Focus”), Joel Kinnaman (“Run All Night,” “The Killing”) and Oscar nominee Viola Davis (“The Help,” “Doubt”).
‘It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
‘Written and directed by Ayer based on the characters from DC Comics, the film also stars Jai Courtney (“Insurgent”), Jay Hernandez (“Takers”), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (“Thor: The Dark World”), Ike Barinholtz (“Neighbors”), Scott Eastwood (“Fury”), Cara Delevingne (“Paper Towns”), Adam Beach (“Cowboys & Aliens”), and Karen Fukuhara in her feature film debut. The new trailer for Suicide Squad is keen to show that this is going to be a rather different kind of comic book movie, and that it’s not going to just pay lip service to the fact the heroes are actually a bunch of villains. It does look like it could be fund though, and may actually end up helping sell an interconnected DC Comics film universe more than the mixed reaction to Batman v Superman.
There’s a lot of interest in Jared Leto’s take on the Joker, which will appear in the upcoming Suicide Squad. From images we’ve previously seen we know he looks manic and a bit scary, and now Empire has released a new cover which gives us a full figure look at Leto in character.
Emily Blunt has recently been talking about her role in the adaptation of the hit book Girl On A Train, saying that while the action may be relocating from London to New York, she will still play the character as English. Now she may also have some co-stars (alongside the previously cast Rebecca Ferguson and Haley Bennett), as 
A week or so ago we had a halfway look at Jared Leto’s as The Joker, but now we’ve got the first proper look, as director David Ayer has a released a pic showing a shrieking Leto with green hair, pale skin, rotten teeth and lots of tattoos.

When it was rumoured Will Smith was in talk to star in Warner/DC’s Suidice Squad, many wondered if the info was wrong as traditionally he’s always wanted to be the star of the show rather than part of an ensemble, and he’s also shied away from playing villainous characters.
Before Dallas Buyers Club, there was a four-year gap between movies for Jared Leto while he concentrated on fronting his band. However after he won an Oscar, many expected him to return to the world of movies with a vengeance.
A couple of months ago it seemed Marvel has sewn up the casting of Doctor Strange with Joaquin Phoenix in talks for the role. However he passed on the role and so the studio has been on the lookout again.
