Over the last couple of weeks David Dobkin has been busy filling out the cast of The Judge. While Robert Downey Jr has been attached for months, he’s now been joined by Robert Duvall, Vincent D’Onofrio, Billy Bob Thornton, Dax Shepard and Vera Farmiga, amongst others, with the latest news being that Leighton Meester and Jeremy Strong are in talks to join the dramedy too, according to Variety.
Robert Downey Jr. is set to play a big city lawyer who returns to his hometown for his mother’s funeral. Once there he learns that his elderly father (Robert Duvall), the local judge, is the prime suspect in her death. Zero Dark Thirty and Lincoln actor Strong will play Downey’s youngest brother (Vincent D’Onofrio is the other brother), while Gossip Girl’s Meester will play Vera Farmiga’s daughter.
Shooting on the movie is due to kick off this June in Boston.
