Bryan Cranston is US Customs Official Bob Mazur, who specialises in going undercover to take down the bad guys. Following a successful sting where he gets injured, he’s told he’s eligible to retire. Instead he takes on a new job, going back undercover as shady business Robert Musella.

While his partner, Emir (John Leguizamo), infiltrates the lower ranks of the drug world, Bob works his way into the trust of those higher up the narcotics chain, posing as a man capable of laundering millions of dollars for Pablo Escobar’s Medellin drug cartel. The further into this world he goes the more dangerous it gets, necessitating the need for a fake fiancée (Diane Kruger), and having to pretend his wife is his secretary to help ensure his real family is kept safe, all while knowing that if he’s found out he’ll get a bullet in the brain. Johnny Depp To Star In Biggie & Tupac Murder Investigation Movie Labyrinth

September 7, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

johnny-deppFor the past few months Johnny Depp has been making headlines, but not for his movies, but now that his divorce from Amber Heard is dying down (for now at least), he’s hoping he can put accusations of assault and violent behaviour behind him. Whether they will go away is yet to be seen.

It’s just been announced, via THR, that he’s set to star in a movie about the police detective who investigated the murders of The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur. He will be Russell Poole, ‘a decorated detective who spent months investigating the murder of B.I.G., real name Christopher Wallace, eventually coming to believe that a group of “gangta cops in his own force were not only involved but were also tied to Death Row Records and the Bloods street gang.” The result was confrontations with the LAPD police chief and culminated with Poole going into early retirement in protest.’

Brad Furman is set to direct, based on a script by Christian Contreras. It’s not clear when it will shoot.

Ben Affleck & Justin Timberlake Up For Runner Runner

April 14, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

I still think Ben Affleck should only be allowed to act in movies that he directs, but thanks to the likes of The Town, his fading acting career is on the rise again. He’s now planning to team up with the also ascendant Justin Timberlake for Runner Runner, according to Variety.

The thriller is set in the world of illegal online gambling, although at the moment no other plot details are being released. The script is from Brian Koppelman and David Levien, who have a bit of a speciality in writing about the gambling world, as they wrote the screenplay for Rounders, and created the short-lived TV series Tilt.

Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) will direct the $30 million movie, although it isn’t certain when it will shoot.
