Aloha Trailer – Emma Stone & Bradley Cooper star in Cameron Crowe’s latest

February 12, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

aloha-trailer-stillCameron Crowe sure does like to take his time. There was a six year gap between Elizabethtown and We Bought A Zoo, and while it seemed he was going to quickly follow it with a Hawaii set movie, it’s taken a bit longer than originally planned.

The movie shot back in 2013, but it’s only now it’s finally preparing for release.

Aloha is about a defence contractor (Bradley Cooper) who is overseeing the launch of a weapons satellite in Hawaii. He ends up falling for an Air Force pilot (Emma Stone), and together they secretly plan to sabotage the launch. Giving things a slightly sci-fi flavour, the movie also features mysterious island forces and a talking computer. Rachel McAdams, John Krasinski, Danny McBride, Jay Baruchel and Alec Baldwin also star.

The film is due out in the US in May, while it currently looks like the UK will have to wait until September. [Read more…]

jay-baruchelWith shooting believed to be starting relatively soon, Jay Baruchel has signed up to star in Cameron’s Crowe’s upcoming romantic comedy, which currently doesn’t have a title, according to THR. It’s a bit of a reunion for Baruchel and Crowe, as the Canadian actor got one of his very first roles in Almost Famous.

Alec Baldwin Joining Bradley Cooper In Cameron Crowe’s Next

August 1, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

alec-baldwinMel Gibson’s racist rants may have essentially scuppered his career, but it appears Alec Baldwin isn’t going to be too badly affected by his recent homophobic tirade, where he lashed out at a gay journalist who’d said Baldwin’s wife was tweeting during James Gandolfini’s funeral. But then, his screaming that his daughter was a ‘thoughtless little pig’ was barely a blip either.

Now he’s in the process of booking a new role, as Deadline reports that he’s in talks to join Cameron Crowe’s currently untitled next movie. Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams and Danny McBride are all signed up for the movie, which is about a defence contractor (Bradley Cooper) who is in Hawaii to oversee the launch of a weapons satellite. However, he ends up falling for an Air Force pilot (Emma Stone) while they work together to sabotage the launch. The story also features a talking computer and supernatural island forces, so there’s a bit of everything thrown in there.

The movie was previously in the works under the name Deep Tiki back in 2008 with Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon attached. It’s since been reworked and will be going into production soon.

Bradley Cooper May Join Emma Stone In Cameron Crowe’s Next

October 25, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

While we may not have a title yet, Cameron Crowe is busy putting together his next movie, and already has Emma Stone lined up to star. Now Deadline reports he may be adding Bradley Cooper to the mix, as The Hangover actor has entered talks to join the movie.

Not too much is known about the movie, other than it’s been described as a romantic two-hander, with a tone similar to Almost Famous and Jerry Maguire. Other than that, no details have been revealed about the plot.

Many expect Cooper to get a breakthrough into being taken seriously as an actor with David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook, where he plays a man recently released from a mental institution, where he was placed after a severely violent outburst. He moves back in with his parents and plots how to win back his wife, an idea that everyone but him thinks is delusional. Hopefully the Cameron Crowe film will be a continuation of his good run.

Cameron Crowe Takes On Beautiful Boy

August 27, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Cameron Crowe has only managed to direct one film since Elizabethtown in 2005, but now that he’s released We Bought A Zoo, it seems he’s keen to ensure there’s not such a big gap until his next movie.

Recently it was revealed Emma Stone is attached to a comedic love story he’s working on, and now The Wrap reports he’s got two other films in the works. He’s taking on David Sheff’s best selling book Beautiful Boy: A Father’s Journey Through His Son’s Addiction, blending it with the book told from the point of view of Sheff’s son David, Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines. As you can guess, it’s about a family dealing with their son’s drug problem.

Crowe is apparently also working on a project for HBO called Telegraph Avenue, which is based on the upcoming novel by Michael Chabon. It isn’t clear if Crowe is writing, directing or just producing that project. Both of these will comes after the Emma Stone movie though, which he plans to make next.

Emma Stone Takes On Cameron Crowe’s Next

July 31, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Not much info is known about Cameron Crowe’s next movie, but at least we now know that it’s going to star Emma Stone, as Deadline reports that the actress is set to play the female lead in the movie.

There’s no news on the title or the plot, although the film will apparently be largely a two-hander, pairing Stone with a man, who it appears is yet to be cast, in a comedic love story. The tone is said to be closer to Crowe classics such as Almost Famous and Jerry Maguire than the likes of We Bought A Zoo. And to be honest, that can only be a good thing.

It’s hoped that shooting will begin next spring.

We Bought A Zoo International Trailer

November 3, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Another look at Cameron Crowe’s We Bought A Zoo has arrived, which sees Matt Damon’s character decide to purchase the rundown Rosemoor Wildlife Park and do it up, even though he has no experience looking after wild animal. Trying to get over the death of his wife, Damon and his two kids – along with a dedicated staff (including Scarlett Johansson) – attempt to return the zoo to its former glory. It’s a shame the film has moved a true story than took place in Devon to America, but hopefully the movie will be good. The film reaches cinemas on December 23rd.
