New Mission: Impossible Fallout Trailer – Henry Cavill’s gonna keep Tom Cruise in line

May 19, 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A few years ago Tom Cruise was all set to leave the Mission: Impossible franchise, but then it became just about the only thing that guaranteed him a hit, so he stuck around. Now the latest instalment is on its way – Fallout.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The best intentions often come back to haunt you. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT finds Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team (Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames) along with some familiar allies (Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan) in a race against time after a mission gone wrong. Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, and Vanessa Kirby also join the dynamic cast with filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie returning to the helm.’

The Boss Baby Trailer – A young boy gets a very unusual baby brother

December 15, 2016 By Tim Isaac 2 Comments

A new baby can often cause jealousy with older siblings, but things go a bit further than that in The Boss Baby, where the new addition to the family wears a suit, carries a briefcase, and can talk. Take a look at the trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘DreamWorks Animation and the director of Madagascar invite you to meet a most unusual baby.  He wears a suit, speaks with the voice and wit of Alec Baldwin, and stars in the animated comedy, DreamWorks’ The Boss Baby.  The Boss Baby is a hilariously universal story about how a new baby’s arrival impacts a family, told from the point of view of a delightfully unreliable narrator, a wildly imaginative 7 year old named Tim.  With a sly, heart-filled message about the importance of family, DreamWorks’ The Boss Baby is an authentic and broadly appealing original comedy for all ages.’

The Boss Baby will be in UK cinemas in next April. [Read more…]

New Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation Trailer – Tom Cruise goes to war with the Syndicate

June 4, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

mission-impossible-rogue-nation-poster2-slideIt would seem the Mission: Impossible franchise has decided it wants to sit halfway between a Marvel superhero movie and a James Bond flick, but considering the amount of money those films make, that’s probably not a bad decision for Paramount to have made.

Synopsis: ‘With the IMF disbanded, and Ethan (Tom Cruise) out in the cold, the team now faces off against a network of highly skilled special agents, the Syndicate. These highly trained operatives are hellbent on creating a new world order through an escalating series of terrorist attacks. Ethan gathers his team and joins forces with disavowed British agent Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson), who may or may not be a member of this rogue nation, as the group faces their most impossible mission yet.’

Tom Cruise star alongside Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner and Ving Rhames, and adds to the cast Rebecca Ferguson and Alec Baldwin

Aloha Trailer – Emma Stone & Bradley Cooper star in Cameron Crowe’s latest

February 12, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

aloha-trailer-stillCameron Crowe sure does like to take his time. There was a six year gap between Elizabethtown and We Bought A Zoo, and while it seemed he was going to quickly follow it with a Hawaii set movie, it’s taken a bit longer than originally planned.

The movie shot back in 2013, but it’s only now it’s finally preparing for release.

Aloha is about a defence contractor (Bradley Cooper) who is overseeing the launch of a weapons satellite in Hawaii. He ends up falling for an Air Force pilot (Emma Stone), and together they secretly plan to sabotage the launch. Giving things a slightly sci-fi flavour, the movie also features mysterious island forces and a talking computer. Rachel McAdams, John Krasinski, Danny McBride, Jay Baruchel and Alec Baldwin also star.

The film is due out in the US in May, while it currently looks like the UK will have to wait until September. [Read more…]

Alec Baldwin & Rebecca Ferguson In Talks for Mission: Impossible 5

July 10, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

alec-baldwinJust a few months ago Alec Baldwin suggested he was retiring from the public eye after facing criticism for once more yelling a gay slur at someone during an altercation. However he seems to have changed his mind, as Deadline reports he’s in talks for Mission: Impossible 5.

He’s not the only one, as Variety adds that Rebecca Ferguson is apparently to play the female lead, who is apparently some sort of assassin. Jessica Chastain was offered the role back in April, but she ultimately passed because she could not commit enough time to the extensive shoot, and so now Paramount is looking towards someone who’s a little less well known.

Baldwin meanwhile would be a high-ranking CIA officer who oversees the division lead by Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt. The role has been compared to Laurence Fishburne’s Theodore Brassel in 2006’s Mission: Impossible III.

Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg are expected to reprise their roles from 2011’s Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol. Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher) is directing from a script by Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3). The film is currently due for release on December 25th, 2015.

Alec Baldwin Blames ‘Fundamentalist’ Gays For His Talk Show Getting Canned

November 27, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

alec-baldwinLast week wasn’t a great one for Alec Baldwin, who despite his public statements of support for LGBT caused, once again found himself caught up in controversy over gay slurs he seemingly uttered. A video emerged of him calling a photographer a ‘c*cksucking f*g’. Baldwin admitted to the first word but denied the second, although the video certainly seems to suggest he did indeed utter the f-bomb.

Shortly after this erupted, his brand new chat show on MSNBC was suspended and a few days later it was cancelled completely. Now Baldwin is blaming the ‘fundamentalist wing of gay advocacy’, who he seems to think are victimising him.

He told The Gothamist about the controversial video, “I call someone a ‘cocksucking something’, you can’t really tell what I’m saying, and we live in a world in which the phrase ‘TMZ’s enhanced audio’ exists. And then with The Post… there’s nothing you can do when you get thrown in this washing machine, nothing. You know? Nothing. All you end up doing is just defending yourself all day long…

“I dispute half the comment I made. If I called him ‘c*cksucking maggot’ or a ‘c*cksucking motherfucker’… ‘faggot’ is not the word that came out of my mouth. That I know. But you’ve got the fundamentalist wing of gay advocacy—[GLAAD’s] Rich Ferraro and [blogger] Andrew Sullivan—they’re out there, they’ve got you. Rich Ferraro, this is probably one of his greatest triumphs. They killed my show. And I have to take some responsibility for that myself.”

Interestingly GLAAD had avoided criticising Baldwin too much earlier this summer when he Tweeted that a journalist was a ‘toxic little queen’, but took a stand this time over their perception of his repeated behaviour.

It also seems Baldwin thought the only problem was with his possible use of the word ‘f*g’, although he has since accepted that ‘c*cksucking’ has homophobic connotations and has promised not to use it anymore.

Once more there’s the impression that Baldwin believes he should be forgiven anything he says in anger, as in his mind it doesn’t count, as long as he supports the right things when he’s calmed down a bit. Is he right? Or is this one outburst too far for the star?

John Krasinski Joins Bradley Cooper In Cameron Crowe’s Next

October 22, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

john-krasinskiCameron Crowe is busy lining up a great cast for his next movie. He’s already got Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Danny McBride, Jay Baruchel and Alec Baldwin, and now THR says that he’s also in the process of adding John Krasinski.

The new movie is about a defence contractor (Bradley Cooper) who is overseeing the launch of a weapons satellite in Hawaii. He ends up falling for an Air Force pilot (Emma Stone), and together they secretly plan to sabotage the launch. Giving things a slightly sci-fi flavour, the movie also features mysterious island forces and a talking computer.

Krasinski will apparently play “a military man married to McAdams, who is playing Cooper’s ex-wife.” Cameron Crowe is directing from his own original screenplay.

Alec Baldwin Joining Bradley Cooper In Cameron Crowe’s Next

August 1, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

alec-baldwinMel Gibson’s racist rants may have essentially scuppered his career, but it appears Alec Baldwin isn’t going to be too badly affected by his recent homophobic tirade, where he lashed out at a gay journalist who’d said Baldwin’s wife was tweeting during James Gandolfini’s funeral. But then, his screaming that his daughter was a ‘thoughtless little pig’ was barely a blip either.

Now he’s in the process of booking a new role, as Deadline reports that he’s in talks to join Cameron Crowe’s currently untitled next movie. Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams and Danny McBride are all signed up for the movie, which is about a defence contractor (Bradley Cooper) who is in Hawaii to oversee the launch of a weapons satellite. However, he ends up falling for an Air Force pilot (Emma Stone) while they work together to sabotage the launch. The story also features a talking computer and supernatural island forces, so there’s a bit of everything thrown in there.

The movie was previously in the works under the name Deep Tiki back in 2008 with Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon attached. It’s since been reworked and will be going into production soon.

Blue Jasmine Trailer – First look at Cate Blanchett in Woody Allen’s latest

June 10, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

As is the way with Woody Allen movies, we’ve heard little about the plot of Blue Jasmine, meaning that trailer is our first proper chance to see what the movie is all about.

The only earlier info was that it follows ‘the final stages of an acute crisis and a life of a fashionable New York housewife (Cate Blanchett)’. The actress’ character, Jasmine, is used to wealth and privilege, thanks to her husband (Alec Baldwin). However, when everything falls apart and Jasmine starts to have a nervous breakdown, she moves to San Francisco where she can stay with her sister Ginger (Sally Hawkins).

Louis C.K., Bobby Cannavale, Andrew Dice Clay, Peter Sarsgaard and Michael Stuhlbarg also star. It hits US cinemas on July 26th, with a September 20th UK date seblue-jasmine-poster1t. [Read more…]
