Many were incredibly impressed with young Logan Lerman’s performance in Indignation when it debuted at Sundance, suggesting it will help many see the Percy Jackson star in a new light (at least for those who haven’t seen Perks Of Being A Wallflower). Now the trailer has arrived so we can get a taste of the Philip Roth adaptation.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘Based on Philip Roth’s late novel, Indignation takes place in 1951, as Marcus Messner (Logan Lerman), a brilliant working class Jewish boy from Newark, New Jersey, travels on scholarship to a small, conservative college in Ohio, thus exempting him from being drafted into the Korean War. But once there, Marcus’s growing infatuation with his beautiful classmate Olivia Hutton (Sarah Gadon), and his clashes with the college’s imposing Dean, Hawes Caudwell (Tracy Letts), put his and his family’s best laid plans to the ultimate test.’
The movie is the first film directed by James Schamus, best known for being the head of Focus Features and for writing most of Ang Lee’s movies.
Following it Sundance debut January, the movie will screen this June at Sundance London on both Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June. There will also be a special event “In Conversation with James Schamus” on 4th June. Tickets for all screenings are now on sale here: www.sundance.org/london
The movie will be out in the US in July.
