Anne Hathaway, Keanu Reeves & Daniel Radcliffe Take On The Modern Ocean

November 4, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

daniel-radcliffe-what-ifNot many indie films can muster a starry cast like this, but The Moon Ocean has signed up Anne Hathaway, Keanu Reeves, Daniel Radcliffe, Chloe Grace Moretz, Tom Holland, Asa Butterfield, Jeff Goldblum and Abraham Attah.

It’s certainly a step towards the mainstream for director Shane Carruth, who previously impressed many with Primer and Upstream Color.

THR reports that the film, ‘revolves around vengeance and the fierce competition for valuable shipping routes and priceless materials that converge in a spectacular battle on the rolling decks of behemoth cargo ships.’

It’s not clear what role the actors will play.

The Modern Ocean is currently looking for buyers at the American Film Market.

New Upstream Color Trailer – Take a new look at Shane Carruth’s mysterious new film

January 16, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Shane Carruth made a big splash in indie circles with 2004’s Primer, but it’s only now that we’re getting his second movie, and a new trailer has been released to give us a look at the film. Carruth has been keeping the plot of the movie is a bit mysterious, and this new trailer raises as many questions as it answers.

We do know a little about the movie as the short synopsis says: ‘A young woman (Amy Seimetz) is abducted and seemingly brainwashed via an organic material harvested from a specific flower. She later meets a man (Carruth) and after the two fall for each other, they come to realize he may also have been subjected to the same process.’

The film will premiere at Sundance after which the director plans to eschew the traditional distribution route, releasing it himself and taking it around the country, before it hits screens in LA in April and then heads to VOD soon after. There’s no news yet on when we might get to see it in the UK.

Upstream Color Trailer – The new movie from Primer’s Shane Carruth

December 5, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

2004’s Primer may not have been a big box office hit, but director Shane Carruth got a lot of praise for the film. However it’s taken him until now to get a follow-up in the can, which has just been announced as one of the movies that will be in competition at Sundance. Now a short trailer for the movie has arrived, which doesn’t tell us much about the plot, but has some interesting and strange imagery – mainly it makes us want to now what the piglet has to do with anything.

Here’s the brief synopsis from the Sundance site (which is just as enigmatic as the trailer), ‘A man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the life cycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives. Cast: Amy Seimetz, Shane Carruth, Andrew Sensenig, Thiago Martins.’

No UK release date is currently set.
