It seems that with Guardians Of The Galaxy recently wrapped and Thor: The Dark World in cinemas in a couple of weeks, Marvel is now concentrating on who will play the title role in Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man. Now Variety is saying the insiders claim that Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd are currently the top two candidates and one is likely to land the part.
No offers have been made yet, and there’s still a chance another actor could swoop in and take the coveted role. That said, both Rudd and Gordon-Levitt are expected to meet with Marvel executives and director Edgar Wright again before a final decision is made, and current indications suggest it’s a toss-up between them.
Ant-Man follows Dr. Hank Pym, who invents a substance that allows him to be shrunk down to an ant’s size. Edgar Wright is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Joe Cornish (Attack the Block), based on the Marvel Comics character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The film’s due out summer 2015.
