Disney has announced its release slate well into the future, including revealing release dates for two untitled Marvel Phase 3 movies, the first coming May 6th, 2016 and the second one set for May 5th, 2017. There’s no news on what these movies might be, but they’d follow Thor 2, Captain America 2, Guardians Of The Galaxy, The Avengers 2 and Ant-Man.
It could be that these new films will be yet more sequels to already established, but there’s also a chance it’s the long gestating Doctor Strange of Black Panther movies, or another new character to the big screen.
Disney also revealed that there’s a new title for The Muppets…Again, which has become Muppets Most Wanted (a much more sensible name). It will keep its original release date of March 21, 2014.
And while the Cars spin-off Planes doesn’t reach cinemas until this summer, Disney obviously has high hopes for it, as they’re planning a very quick sequel, Plane: Fire & Rescue, which is set for release on July 18th, 2014.
Other announcements included that Rob Marshall’s musical Into The Woods will get released on December 25th, 2014, suggesting there are already hopes for Oscars.
