In the last few weeks Nick Jonas has seemed more keen to show he’s the gayest straight man in the universe than he has promoting his new TV show, Kingdom. He hasn’t worn a shirt for a month, has had photos taken of him holding his junk, done appearances at gay clubs, semi-apologised for the Jonas Brothers not doing enough for gay fans, and has been interviewed by a stream of LGBT publications.

Now though his gay-straight-man credentials have really been put to the ultimate test as Sugarscape asked him the most important question of his career – can he identify male celebrities just from their bulges?

If things keep going at this rate, we’ll have to set up a global competition where every nation has to make a charity calendar full of shirtless studs and then we judge which is the best. Actually, considering the number of hot guy calendars we seem to cover on BGPS, we’re already pretty much doing that.

Joining the likes of the US, UK, Holland, Romania, and Ireland, comes Finland, where they’ve lined up some of their best specimens – all physical education students at the University of Jyväskylä (and no, I don’t think that jumble of letters can be a real place either) – who’ve taken off their shirts and gone to do manly things in the woods in order to help raise money for the Icehearts charity

The Andrew Christian video fairies are back and this time they’ve got heavily into neon and clothing that only looks good on Andrew Christian models (although I’m sure we could all try to pull off the underpants and pretend we’re 20-year-olds with washboard abs).

It’s all a bit random, but if you’re into shafts of light and people homoerotically writhing, it certainly ticks the boxes. Now don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining, but I do kind of miss the days when AC vids were simpler and more fun – although I’m sure I’ll have to watch this one a few more times so I can properly make the comparisons between the old and the new.

20 years ago it used to be slightly sleazy calendars with topless women that were the ‘in’ thing, but now it’s men taking their shirt off to help us know what day it is, and we’re certainly not complaining. This year in particular we’ve been slightly inundated with buff bloke calendars, but there’s certainly room for this new one.

While most of us have to put up with medical professionals who may be good at their jobs but aren’t exactly hotties, it seems in Ireland they have plenty of doctors who could do modelling on the side.

It turns out if you want to raise money, get men to strip down for a calendar is a good way to do it. We’ve already featured everything from (fake) Orthodox Priests and Hunks & Hounds to the always delicious Ben Cohen and some sexy Sons Of The Beach.

Now it’s the turn of South African and Botswanan game wardens who’ve taken their clothes off for the Rangers for Rhinos 2015 Calendar, which will make cash for the Game Rangers Association of Africa and Resource Africa, both of which support anti-rhino poaching projects.

Photographer Josie Borain comments, “I used to see some of the [social media] posts about rhinos in pain after having their horns hacked off – terrible photographs. Over time, I realised that I cared. But by just liking or commenting on something on Facebook, it wasn’t really achieving anything.

“Rhinos aren’t a cute, cuddly little dog or kitten that’s been abused. It’s in people’s nature to help something so sweet. While the rhino is a majestic, beautiful creature, he’s not that cute, cuddly little thing. So they’re often at a disadvantage.”

This time of year brings a lot of calendars featuring men in various states of undress. So how do you make yours stand out? Add some dogs, of course!

That’s the idea behind the Hunks & Hounds Calendar, where photographer Mike Ruiz gets some men to take their shirts off while holding some very cute canines. And it’s all to support the Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue, so you’ll be helping out animals as well as enjoying the beefcake. Allegedly the men are also all single in a need of a human companion.

Ruiz tells Huffpo, “I just hope that people enjoy the images, and that they are reminded daily that adopting and loving an animal is the most humane thing a person can do. I hope we sell a million so that Louie’s Legacy can broaden their services to be able to help more dogs find forever homes.”
