Matt Damon Looks Ripped In A New Elysium Image

Matt Damon sure must have spent a lot of time in the gym in the last year or so. A few days ago we had him looking incredibly hot as he got out of a swimming pool in the trailer for Behind The Candelabra, and now he’s rocking some impressive abs in a new image from Elysium.

We’re still not sure if he suits a shaved head, but the rest of him is looking fine.

The trailer for Elysium dropped a couple of days ago, and you can watch that here. Here’s the synopsis: ‘In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard line government official will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.’

Neill Blomkamp’s film hits US cinemas on August 9th and will arrive in the UK in September.

‘I’m Not Gay’ Say J Pee In His Funny New Song

There seems to be a bit of a subgenre in humorous rap songs about people insisting they’re not get when actually they are. Now J Pee has joined the throng, with a funny rap called ‘I’m Not Gay’, all about how his homoerotic actions shouldn’t be construed as actually gay – or should they.

Jon Hamm Goes In The Closet To Kiss A Guy – Take A Look

The latest episode of SNL writer Mike O’Brien’s web series, 7 Minutes in Heaven, sees him in a closet with Jon Hamm, trying to get the Mad Men actor to kiss him. You’ll be pleased to hear that O’Brien succeeds, and if Jon Hamm really kisses people like that, you’d be lucky to survive!

Of course they also have to talk a little bit about the return of Mad Men, although they assiduously avoid the issue of ‘Dong Draper’ and his infamous bulge, that’s been making headlines recently – which he’s not been too happy about.

Does Bradley Cooper Look Good With A Perm Or Not?

Bradley Cooper is a man who likes to change his hair for different roles, having gone for everything from a close crop to frosted tips to matted dreadlocks (for Hit & Run). Now he’s at it again, deciding on a permed looked for his latest film. The movie doesn’t have a name yet, but it reteams him with Silver Linings Playbooks director David O. Russell and star Jennifer Lawrence, alongside the likes of Christian Bale and Amy Adams.

Cooper was spotted a few days ago with a head full of little pink curlers, as you can see below, and now he’s been snapped on set with the finished look – tight ringlet curls. In the new movie he plays an FBI agent who forces Bale’s conman to turn on various mobsters in a battle against corruption. The fact it’s set in the 1970s does go some way to explain Cooper’s new look.

So what do you think? Is he going to start a trend for men to get curly, or will he end up like Justin Timberlake, whose early 2000s blond curls are something he’s still trying to live down?

Josh Hutcherson Shows NOH8 With A New Equality Pic

Josh Hutcherson has been involved in gay rights for quite a while (even though he’s only 20), including co-founding the organisation Straight But Not Narrow, which works to promote gay-straight alliances in schools and elsewhere.

Now he’s got behind the lens for a NOH8 portrait – as well as one with his SBNN  cohorts – part of the campaign that’s seen all manner gay people and straight allies get photographed to show their support for marriage, gender and human equality. There are now over 20,000 of these images, including famous faces ranging from Pete Wentz and Debbie Gibson to Lance Bass and Bryan Singer.

Hutcherson has also filmed a PSA and made personal appearances for Straight But Not Narrow, and received GLAAD’s Vanguard award last year in acknowledgement of the work he’s done.

Video Interview With Selena Blake, Director of Taboo Yardies

One of the best documentaries at this year’s London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival was undoubtedly Taboo Yardies, about the life of LGBT people in Jamaica.

It’s a powerful look at the issues faced by gay people in a homophobic society, although not without notes of hope and an acknowledgement that Jamaica is more complex than it  first appears. BGPS’ Adrian Naik managed to catch up with the film’s director, Selena Blake, at the LLGFF to ask her about the film and the challenges she faced making it.

Take A Look At One Shirtless Scene We Wish Wasn’t Cut From GI Joe: Retaliation

GI Joe: Retaliation was supposed to be in cinemas last summer, but then Paramount delayed, ostensibly so they could convert it to 3D, but they also did quite a lot of reshoots to change various bits of the movie. However, there’s one bit we wish they hadn’t changed.

The image above is from a scene where Channing Tatum, Dwayne Johnson and a shirtless D.J. Cotrona hang out in a bar (and in our mind it was going to be incredibly homoerotic – although it probably wasn’t). However director Jon M. Chu rudely decided to get rid of the shirtless Cotrona, and change for a different scene with a different tone.

Buzzfeed has the news on the change, saying, ‘Director Jon M. Chu told me that the bar scene with Tatum, Cotrona, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was cut and re-shot early last year — before the film’s release date was pushed from June 2012 to this weekend — without Cotrona because it wasn’t successfully conveying the warmth of the relationship between Tatum and Johnson’s characters. “It was more plot-driven,” Chu said. “It didn’t set the tone right for movie. We wanted something a little more jokey.” So out went Cotrona, and in went a scene of Tatum and Johnson bonding while playing a military videogame. With their shirts on.’

Oh well, at least we get an image, and perhaps it’ll be included as a deleted scene on the DVD.

Crush Of The Day: Zac Efron For Flaunt Magazine

zac-efron-flaunt5-slideshowZac Efron was cute in High School Musical, but he’s now turned into a fine young 25-year-old man, who look hotter every time we see him. He’s had a great photoshoot for Flaunt magazine, and you can see the evidence here (courtesy of SocialiteLife).

He’s also got a few interesting things to say in the accompanying interview, including defending High School Musical against those who want him to say it’s crap. He says, “But here’s the one thing about High School Musical, that a lot of people forget or don’t realize. It affected a lot of people, its resonance, culturally, was massive … and at the same time, it was in every sense of it, the luckiest break in the world. The wrong thing to do—and that’s what all these interviews now are trying to get me to say— is to turn on it, to like sh– on it, call it crap. But that’s insane. There are hundreds of people who began doing one thing when they were younger, who go on to develop and refine and shape their vision, as they get older, and other concerns—like fame, or money, take a back seat to other ones.”

He also talks about the difficulty of making good movie, “It’s really tough. I feel like I’m in the trenches with them. It’s really hard because I respect these people so much. And they are some of the smartest people I’ve ever met. And they struggle more than I can even comprehend with the problem at hand—the dichotomy—the challenge of making good movies and making movies that people want to watch. And right now, being me, I personally know which ones I want to be in. I feel like the other way. S–t, I feel like I can be effective in one.”

Jon Hamm Wants You To Stop Talking About His Penis

The Hamm-ster’s frontal appendage has been popular on the internet for a long time, due to his dislike for underwear and love of wearing trousers that show it hanging a healthy way down his leg.

It’s been in the blogosphere a lot recently due to rumours that with Mad Men heading into the 1960s and the trousers getting tighter, the wardrobe department had to have a word with him about wrangling his trouser snake a bit better. This led to his publicist getting rather frustrated about being asked about it.

Now Hamm himself has weighed into fray, in an interview with Rolling Stone, saying “It is a little rude. It just speaks to a broader freedom that people feel like they have – a prurience.”

He adds, “They’re called ‘privates’ for a reason. “I’m wearing pants, for fuck’s sake. Lay off. I mean, it’s not like I’m a fucking lead miner. There are harder jobs in the world. But when people feel the freedom to create Tumblr accounts about my cock, I feel like that wasn’t part of the deal … But whatever. I guess it’s better than being called out for the opposite.”

He may not like it, but if you ask me, if he wants people to stop talking about his schlong and posted pics of his package, giving a quote like that probably isn’t going to help.

Channing Tatum Says “I’d Have Sex” With George Clooney

channing-tatumSome couples like to keep lists of a few celebrities they’d be allowed to cheat with if the opportunity arose. Well, if Channing Tatum and his wife Jenna Dewan Tatum have a list like that, she’d better check he hasn’t got George Clooney on, as he says he knows him and he’d totally hit that.

Talking to The Sun, he says, “Well I’ve spent time with George Clooney and he’s the most interesting man on the planet. He can do it all. Yep, I guess what I’m saying is I’d have sex with him.”

We’re presuming he’s joking, but if you see any stories about Jenna banning him Channing from events that Clooney might be attending, you’ll know why. However it seems they’re all friends, as last July the actors (along with their partners) went on holiday together at Clooney’s house on Lake Como in northern Italy – and we’re presuming no same sex hanky panky took place.

Tatum was speaking at a screening of some footage from his upcoming movie, White House Down, the trailer for which arrived this morning. You can watch it here.
