Russell Tovey Talks About Our Chances Of Us Seeing Him Full Frontal

October 11, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

russell-toveyEver since he kept waking up places in the nude in the UK TV series Being Human, Russell Tovey has never seemed shy about showing off his body. However there been one part of him that hasn’t been on display to the general public – little Russell.

The lack of Tovey penis has been a source of distress to gay men around the globe, but while we’ve learned to live with it, there’s always been the hope that one day it would show up. However it doesn’t look like it’ll be turning up anytime soon – although in an interview with Metro he does suggest that one day we’ll get to see it.

He says, “I’m saving it because I know that the day I show my knob it’ll just be screen-grabbed, Vined and Tumblred everywhere. That may seem egotistical but my ass is everywhere! I get retweeted pictures of it back to me, so lovely, great, thank you for that.”

So sadly it doesn’t seem out desire to see it may actually be holding back the day it arrives, but hopefully our dreams will come true one day, and images like the one below will keep us going until then. [Read more…]

Benedict Cumberbatch Talks About The Lack Of Gay Sex In The Imitation Game

October 11, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

imitation-game-slideIn the past there’s been a bit of a problem with mainstream movies de-gaying any gay characters or themes, so even if it’s acknowledged it’s made safe and straightened up. Nowadays there’s a little more diversity in cinema, but there’s still no defined boundary that says when a gay character is gay enough and not just homo in name only.

Unsurprisingly that subject has come up in relation to The Imitation Game, the new film about gay computing pioneer and codebreaker Alan Turing. Indeed it’s been a bone of contention since reports surfaced that early versions of the script were essentially a romance between Turing and a woman.

While Turing is undoubtedly gay in the finished film, there isn’t any sex, something Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Turing, defends in an interview with TheWrap.

He says, “He’s [Turing] chemically castrated because he admits to being a homosexual; he talks about entreating a young man to touch his penis. I mean, it’s pretty explicit. If you need to see [sex] to understand that he’s gay, then all is lost for any kind of subtle storytelling. The conversations are so naked in themselves that the idea of having to see two naked men wasn’t something I ever thought was missing in the script.”

The actor elaborate with NME, “His sexuality is something contained that is expressed in the film but not shown explicitly. There is no heterosexuality expressed in the film. So what we show in his behaviour is sadly true to his story. He had to suppress his sexuality, make it private, make it something secret.

“When he talks about his sexuality in the film it shows his complete honesty, guilelessness, innocence. He was aware of the risks but at the same time wasn’t willing to cave in to the intolerance and potential permutations of confessing such a thing. Some people own him as martyr or as standard-bearer for a cause. I think he was just very true to himself, which is a form of martyrdom, but he didn’t make a political statement out of it.”

There is also disagreement over how much sex Turing had anyway, so to paint him as a highly sexual person may have been inaccurate.

DisneyNature’s Bears Gets A Far Gayer Parody Trailer

October 11, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

bears-parody-trailerIt had to happen at some point. As soon as DisneyNature announced that they were making a wildlife documentary called Bears, somebody was bound to decide it was ripe for a big gay parody.

Now one has arrived, giving us a look into the world of gay bears, and how they live in the wild – complete with eating food, grooming, socialising, and of course have sex.

It’s a lot of fun and rather silly, but unfortunately we don’t think Disney will take the hint and that their documentary, which was released in the US earlier this year, will remain being about furry animals rather than furry people.

You can take a look at the parody along with the original DisneyNature Bears trailer below. [Read more…]

First Pics Of Wentworth Miller As Captain Cold In The Flash Released

October 11, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

wentworth-miller-flash-pic1A couple of months ago it was announced that out actor Wentworth Miller would be turning villainous as Captain Cold in TV’s new hit series The Flash. Now the first images of the actor in the show has been released.

Miller is playing Leonard Snart, who invents a powerful ray gun that freezes his enemies. Captain Cold will be a recurring character, which raises the possibility that as in the comics he will put together a group of bad guys known as The Rogues. That’s particularly likely as the title of the first episode Miller appears in is called ‘Going Rogue’ (it’s the fourth episode in case you were wondering).

There’s also going to be a bit of a Prison Break reunion, as the 10th episode features both Captain Cold and his villainous colleague, Heat Wave, who will be played by Dominic Purcell.

Take a look at the pics above and below, along with a Flash trailer featuring Wentworth. [Read more…]

Lego Batman Is Getting His Own Movie

October 11, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

lego-movie-batmanIn The Lego Movie, Batman was very funny, but he was also a bit of a douche. However Warner still reckons he’s a good character to base a movie around, as it’s been announced that he’s getting his own spinoff. Hopefully the film will teach him to be a bit less arrogant.

It’s also been revealed that the movie has been put on the fast track, seemingly because they’ve realised it’ll take longer to get The Lego Movie 2 on the big screen that the May 26th, 2017 release date it’s previously been given. Lego Batman may now take over that release date, with the proper sequel coming sometime later.

Will Arnett is all set to voice Batman once more, with director Chris McKay – who was previously set to direct The Lego Movie 2 – helming the movie. Seth Grahame-Smith will write the script.

It means that is everything works out, Ben Affleck could have some competition for Batman movie dominance.

Like many of these successful franchises, The Maze Runner is a trilogy also with prequel to follow, this one written by James Dashner.

Big Hero 6 Sizzle Reel – A great new look at the Disney-Marvel animation

October 10, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

big-hero-6-pic3Big Hero 6 certainly seems like it’s going to be something a little different from Disney Animation, which perhaps isn’t too much of a surprising considering it’s based on a Marvel property. It’s only a few weeks until it’s released in the US, and so the House Of Mouse decided New York Comic Con would be a good place to show off some new footage.

And now the Sizzle Reel has been released for us all to take a look at, where you can really feel the fusion of Disney, Marvel and Japanese influences, not least the work of Hayao Miyazaki.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘With all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Big Hero 6” is an action-packed comedy-adventure about robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who learns to harness his genius—thanks to his brilliant brother Tadashi and their like-minded friends: adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago, neatnik Wasabi, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred. When a devastating turn of events catapults them into the midst of a dangerous plot unfolding in the streets of San Fransokyo, Hiro turns to his closest companion—a robot named Baymax—and transforms the group into a band of high-tech heroes determined to solve the mystery. Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, and featuring comic-book style action, “Big Hero 6” is directed by Don Hall (“Winnie the Pooh”) and Chris Williams (“Bolt”), and produced by Roy Conli (“Tangled”). The film hits UK cinemas in 3D in January 2015.’

Take a look at the new footage below. [Read more…]

Focus Trailer – Will Smith turns con man opposite Margot Robbie

October 10, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

focus-slideWill Smith has been very picky about what movies he’ll star in for the last few years, however he’s got a new one coming up called Focus, where he turns con man who take a younger grafter under his wing (and as you can see from the pic above, he’s certainly been hitting the gym).

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Will Smith stars as Nicky, a seasoned master of misdirection who becomes romantically involved with novice con artist Jess (Margot Robbie). As he’s teaching her the tricks of the trade, she gets too close for comfort and he abruptly breaks it off. Three years later, the former flame—now an accomplished femme fatale—shows up in Buenos Aires in the middle of the high-stakes racecar circuit. In the midst of Nicky’s latest, very dangerous scheme, she throws his plans for a loop… and the consummate con man off his game.’

It’s something a bit different for Will, whose previously been known to turn down roles if his character wasn’t an out-and-out good guy, and that certainly doesn’t seem to be the case here. The movie is due out early 2015. [Read more…]

Tommorowland Teaser Trailer – George Clooney gives us a glimpse of the future

October 10, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

tomorrowland-teaser-posterDisney and director Brad Bird have been keeping their cards very close to their chest about Tomorrowland. However New York Comic Con is where they’re chosen to start the hype, keeping the intrigue by giving us a poster, pics and a teaser trailer that give us glimpses but don’t show us too much.

We also have an official plot synopsis, which reads: ‘From Disney comes two-time Oscar® winner Brad Bird’s riveting, mystery adventure “Tomorrowland,” starring Academy Award® winner George Clooney. Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.” What they must do there changes the world—and them—forever.’

As you can see from the teaser, it looks like it could be pretty cool. Writer Damon Lindelof has compared the film to Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of a Third Kind, saying that it is all about discovery. If you’re wondering what this has to do with the part of Disneyland of the same name, the movie apparently suggests that it may have been a trip Walt Disney took to the enigmatic Tomorrowland that inspired his park.

The film is due out May 2015. Take a look at a couple of pics and the teaser trailer below. [Read more…]

The Imitation Game London Film Festival Opening Night Gala Red Carpet Live Stream

October 8, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s the opening night of the BFI London Film Festival and kicking things off is a gala screening of The Imitation Game, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as gay computing pioneer and codebreaker Alan Turing.

Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, Mark Strong and Charles Dance, should all be at the European Premiere in London’s Leicester Square.

Here’s the film’s synopsis: The Imitation Game is a nail-biting race against time following Alan Turing (pioneer of modern-day computing and credited with cracking the German Enigma code) and his brilliant team at Britain’s top-secret code-breaking centre, Bletchley Park, during the darkest days of World War II. Turing, whose contributions and genius significantly shortened the war, saving thousands of lives, was the eventual victim of an unenlightened British establishment, but his work and legacy live on.
