Aaron Paul, Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried have been attached to Fathers And Daughters for a few months, and now the cast has grown once more, as the news has come out of Berlin (via Variety) that Octavia Spencer, Quvenzhane Wallis And Diane Kruger have joined the movie.
The film is set in two different time periods, 25 years apart, in New York City. Crowe plays a famous novelist who is struggling to raise his five-year-old daughter, largely because he is battling mental illness. Amanda Seyfried is playing the adult daughter in present-day Manhattan, who is still coming to grips with her troubled childhood.
According to Variety, ‘Spencer will play the spirited head of the psychiatric clinic where Seyfried’s character counsels troubled children. Wallis will play a patient who hasn’t spoken a word for a year since her mother was murdered while Kruger will play the sister-in law of Crowe’s character, who blames him for the death of her sister.’
Gabriele Muccino is set to direct.
