Lucas Neff & Neil Patrick Harris Up For Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur, With Amy Poehler Going Inside Out

August 10, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Pixar has been revealing info about some of their upcoming movies. While we knew they had films in the works about dinosaurs and a film set inside the human brain, we now know they’re called The Good Dinosaur and Inside Out. We’ve also got new concept art pics from the films and info about the voice casts.

Raising Hope’s Lucas Neff leads The Good Dinosaur cast, playing Apatosaurus Arlo. The film is set in a world when an asteroid never made the dinosaurs extinct, so they now live alongside humans. After a traumatic event rattles the enormous Arlo’s (Lucas Neff) tranquil community, he sets out on a quest to restore peace, gaining an unlikely companion along the way in the form of a young human boy named Spot.

Disney have revealed that Arlo’s Poppa will be played by John Leguizamo, Momma will be Frances McDormand and Sister Ivy is Judy Greer. Bill Hader and Neil Patrick Harris will be Arlo’s two older brothers. The film’s due out May 30th, 2014.

inside-out-concept-art1Inside Out takes you to a place that everyone knows, but no one has ever seen: the world inside the human mind. Riley, an 11-year-old girl who recently moved with her family to San Francisco, is not the main character but the setting for the film. Moviegoers will go inside her mind to explore how memories are formed and how a mixture of five emotions- Joy, Disgust, Anger, Fear and Sadness – define life experiences.

Amy Poehler is Joy, Lewis Black is Anger, Mindy Kaling will be Disgust, Phyllis Smith takes on Sadness, while Bill Hader is Fear. You can see the Five Emotions in the photo above. Inside Out should be in cinemas June 19th, 2015.

New Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 Trailer – Meet the Foodimals

July 3, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs was a bigger hit than many expected –  largely because it was a better movie than it had any right to be – so it’s little surprise a sequel is coming. Now the new trailer for the film has arrived.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 picks up where Sony Pictures Animation’s hit comedy left off. Inventor Flint Lockwood’s genius is finally being recognized as he’s invited by his idol Chester V to join The Live Corp Company, where the best and brightest inventors in the world create technologies for the betterment of mankind. Chester’s right-hand-gal – and one of his greatest inventions – is Barb (a highly evolved orangutan with a human brain, who is also devious, manipulative and likes to wear lipstick. It’s always been Flint’s dream to be recognized as a great inventor, but everything changes when he discovers that his most infamous machine (which turns water into food) is still operating and is now creating food-animal hybrids – “foodimals!” With the fate of humanity in his hands, Chester sends Flint and his friends on a dangerously delicious mission, battling hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees, apple pie-thons, double bacon cheespiders and other food creatures to save the world again!’

The movie is due out in the UK on October 25th, with a late September debut for the US.

Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 Poster Show Off The Food-imals

February 27, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

cloudy-2-preview-poster1
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs saw a small town essentially turned to food, but things are evolving for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (formerly titled Cloudy 2: Revenge of the Leftovers). As the new poster shows, this time they’re dealing with food that’s come to life.

The story follows Flint Lockwood (Bill Hader) as he joins his idol Chester V (Will Forte) at The Live Corp Company, home to some of the greatest minds in the world. However, when Flint learns that his invention that turns water to food is also creating food beasts, he must gather his old friends to put a stop to this madness.

The poster is an appetiser for the first trailer, which is due to debut later today.

First Look At The Food-imals Of Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2

January 19, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Cloudy-2-pic1Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs was a surprise success in 2009, grossing over $250 million and ensuring that Sony was keen to get a sequel into production. That follow-up is due to his UK cinemas this October, and now we’ve got our first look at the movie, via USA Today.

The movie follows on directly from the events in the first movie, where eccentric inventor Flint Locklood caused chaos with a machine that turns water into food. Here’s the synopsis for Cloudy 2: : ‘In the wake of the disastrous food storm at the end of the first movie, Flint Lockwood and friends are forced to leave their town of Swallow Falls. But when it is discovered that sentient food beasts have overrun the island, they are asked to return to save the world…again.’

Bill Hader, who voices Lockwood, comments, “It’s [the machine] created these living food creatures that have basically taken over Flint’s home, the island where he lives. That island is kind of like Jurassic Park.”

You can get you first look at those food-imals above, and then head over to USA Today if you want close-ups of the creatures in the image.

Ty Burrell Signs Up To Be Bill Hader’s Ex-Boyfriend In Skeleton Twins

November 12, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Ty Burrell has gained a lot of fans thank to play Phil Dunphy in Modern Family, but he’s had less success in film (even if he’s been popping up in things for years, such as Evolution, Black Hawk Down and Dawn Of The Dead). However he’ll be hoping he has better luck when he plays gay in Skeleton Twins.

Just last week we reported that Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader signed up to star in the movie, playing Maggie (Wiig) and Milo (Hader), who are twins who went their separate ways years ago, but when they coincidentally cheat death on the same day, the shock makes them reunite and figure out how their lives went wrong. Maggie starts to re-examine her marriage to nature-loving slacker Lance (Luke Wilson), while the gay Milo goes to visit old flame Rich (Burrell).

It’s not an easy reunion for the old lovers though, as Rich was fired when his affair with Milo was uncovered. This pushed him even further into the closet and so when they meet again, Rich is married to a woman and working in a bookstore.

The movie starts shooting in New York later this month. (Source: Variety)
