Hotel Artemis Red Band Trailer – Jodie Foster runs an ER for criminals

May 23, 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

When you read the synopsis for Hotel Artemis, it sounds like it should be part of the John Wick universe, but it must have a little more going for it than that to bring in a cast including Jodie Foster, Sterling K. Brown, Sofia Boutella, Jenny Slate, Zachary Quinto, Jeff Goldblum, Charlie Day, and Dave Bautista. Now we can take a look at the film with the first trailer.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Jean Thomas, aka THE NURSE (Jodie Foster) is the manager of the Hotel Artemis, an ultra-exclusive, members-only hospital hidden in a hotel redolent of faded ‘20s glamour. Tough, sharp and utterly fearless, The Nurse treats an assortment of assassins, gunrunners, thieves and gangsters in an unexpected state-of-the-art emergency room capable of providing a new liver with a 3-D printer or injecting a patient with nanobots that heal from the inside out. With the help of her towering assistant EVEREST, The Nurse wrangles some of the most dangerous criminals in the world, from sultry French assassin NICE and international arms dealer ACAPULCO, to bank robbers WAIKIKI and his brother HONOLULU.

‘One night as a violent riot rages on the streets of Los Angeles, legendary crime boss Orian Franklin, aka NIAGARA, arrives needing immediate treatment after a failed attempt on his life. Niagara’s sudden arrival creates a violent clash among the criminals in the hospital, with one ‘patient’ having a particularly deadly motive for checking into the hotel. The Nurse makes a decision that could jeopardize the future of the ER and everyone in it. Now the safest place for criminals in the city has become the most dangerous.’

The film hits cinemas on July 20th. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

Jodie Foster To Star In Drew Pearce’s Near-Future Thriller Hotel Artemis

November 30, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jodie-fosterJodie Foster’s screen appearances are becoming increasingly rare. While she’s kept busy directing Money Monster and episodes of Orange Is The New Black, we haven’t seen her in a movie since 2013’s Elysium, and it was two years before that that she popped up in Carnage.

However, she’s now booked her next role, as THR reports she’s set to star in Hotel Atermis, the directorial debut of Iran Man 3 screenwriter, Drew Pearce. She will play ‘”The Nurse” in the near-future thriller that is set in its own distinctive crime universe.’ Not much more is known about the plot, although comparisons have been made to Looper, Ex Machina, and Drive.

Producer Stephen Cornwell comments, “Casting Jodie Foster is a real coup. She is an extraordinary talent and will bring something very special to the film. We are delighted to welcome her to this exciting production. Drew’s vision is unique and we can’t wait to see it brought to life by a stellar cast.”

It’s not clear when it might shoot.

Jodie Foster Married Her Partner Alexandra Hedison Over The Weekend

April 23, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

alexandra-hedison-jodie-fosterJodie Foster may now be officially ‘out’ but that doesn’t mean she’s suddenly going to be telling people what she’s up to in her private life ahead of time.

She’s managed to keep her nuptials a secret, as it’s only now a few days later that E! reports that Foster married her girlfriend Alexandra Hedison over the weekend.

The women started dating last summer, with news of their relationship surfacing in October 2013.

There are no details about the ceremony or where it took place – so don’t expect any big glossy magazine spreads featuring pics from the event.

Hedison previously dated Ellen Degeneres several years ago and is a successful photographer. She’s also an actress, which includes playing Dylan Moreland in three seasons of The L Word.

Foster officially came out at the 2013 Golden Globes, although her sexuality had been an open secret for many years.

Extended Elysium Trailer – Fresh look at the Matt Damon sci-fi

July 31, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A new, longer trailer for Elysium has arrived, which gives us a great feel for the look and plot of Neill Blomkamps’s movie. It certainly look pretty cool, with great visuals and an interesting idea behind it.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard line government official will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.’

Neill Blomkamp’s film hits US cinemas on August 9th and the UK on August 26th. [Read more…]

New Elysium Clip – Matt Damon is becoming bionic

July 30, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Much of the promotion of Elysium has centred on Matt Damon wearing a strange suit of armour that allows him to do things he normally couldn’t. Now a new clip has emerged letting us see Damon’s character just after he’s got that armour, is getting used to have the tech attached to him.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. New Elysium Trailer – Matt Damon is really pissed off with Jodie Foster

July 3, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Along with Wolverine and Pacific Rim, Elysium is one of the few big summer movies yet to hit cinemas, but it’s not too long now until it hits US cinemas on August 9th and the UK on August 26th. Now a fresh trailer had dropped, for you to get another taste of the film.

Elysium Extended Trailer – Matt Damon goes up against Jodie Foster

June 14, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A new, longer trailer for Elysium has arrived, which gives us a better look at the plot than anything we’ve seen before. It certainly look pretty cool, with great visual and an interesting idea behind it, although as with many dystopian movies, it difficult to tell whether this vision of the future will feel real or contrived. There’s also a new poster, which you can see below.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Elysium Trailer – Major sci-fi class warfare between Matt Damon and Jodie Foster

April 10, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

As we were promised, the trailer for Elysium has arrived, which is presumably so that it can get some interest just as Oblivion is released, which at least superficially seems to be rather similarly themed. It certainly look pretty cool, with great visual and an interesting idea behind it.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. New Pics Of Matt Damon In Elysium Emerge

April 8, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

elysium-preview-pic1
It’s been a long wait for Neill Blomkamp’s follow-up to District 9, but Elysium is heading our way in a few months, with an August 9th US release and a September 20th UK release now set.

The sci-fi flick is set in 2159 when two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

Now a couple of new pics have emerged. If you’re wondering what the cobbled together tech that Damon is wearing is, it’s machinery that’s prolonging his life, but which makes him a threat to Elysium. The other pics features Wagner Moura, and Alice Braga.
