A remake of The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty has been in the works for year, with all sorts of people attached at various stages. However now it looks like it’s finally going to shoot, with Ben Stiller in the title role and a spring shoot planned. Stiller’s going to need some co-stars though, and THR reports Kristen Wiig is gearing up to the remake of the 1947 comedy classic.
Originally based on a short story by James Thurber, this updated version revolves around a shy magazine photo editor who gets lost in the world of his own fantastical daydreams. He finds himself on a real-life adventure when he goes searching for a missing negative. Kristen Wiig will play a co-worker, someone who often plays a key role in Walter Mitty’s fantasies, and thus comes to help him on his seemingly inconsequential quest.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty will finally begin shooting this April in New York City and Iceland.
