We hadn’t heard about this film before, so we figure it needs every little bit of help it can get. I expect you’ll only be able to find it in tiny little art cinemas though when it’s released in December.

If you were hoping for the first trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi to give you a full rundown of the plot, you’ll be disappointed. Instead – and as most expected – it’s more about teasing the movie and getting people excited. Plot-wise, all we learn is the Rey will be practicing her Jedi skills and that the bad guys think the Jedi should end.
It seems like JJ Abrams has initiated a new tradition with the fact he held off letting the world know that his Star Wars movie would be called The Force Awakens until long after production wrapped and speculation about the title had reached breaking point. Rian Johnson has followed a similar path, only now revealing that Star Wars: Episode VIII will be subtitled The Last Jedi.
While there’s been a lot of comment about whether Finn and Poe Dameron might end up being the Star Wars movie’s first gay couple (based on their bromance in The Force Awakens), it’s not really been mentioned that the franchise could have had a gay character long before that – Luke Skywalker. Although he was shown having some interest in Leia, before he found out she was his sister, he never really had a romance of his own, and seemed as interested in men as women.

The first teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens very deliberately avoiding showing us any of the classic Star Wars characters, despite the fact he knew the likes of Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher would be returning.
JJ Abrams has been keeping very quiet about the cast for Star Wars Episode VII, but with the shoot starting to gear up and the likes of Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill & Carrie Fisher seen in London, many presumed we’d find out who would be in the film on Star Wars Day, May 4th.
