New Ant-Man and The Wasp Trailer – Paul Rudd & Evangeline Lilly have size issues

May 2, 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Marvel has already had one hell of a year with Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. They’re hoping to continue that with their third movie of 2018, Ant-Man and The Wasp, which has just dropped a new trailer.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes “Ant Man and The Wasp,” a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink. In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.’

The movie is due out August 3rd. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

Ant-Man And The Wasp Trailer – Paul Rudd & Evangeline Lily are getting small for Marvel

January 31, 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s a busy year for Marvel, as they have Black Panther out in a couple of weeks, followed by Avengers: Infinity War in early way. Normally two movies in a year is enough, but they’re also preparing Ant-Man And The Wasp for an August release.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink: “Ant-Man and The Wasp.”  In the aftermath of “Captain America:  Civil War,” Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.’

The movie is due out August 3rd. Take a look at the first teaser trailer below. [Read more…]

Michelle Pfeiffer Will Be Janet Van Dyne In Ant-Man And The Wasp

July 23, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s starting to feel like there’s been a long gap between Ant-Man and its planned sequel, Ant-Man And The Wasp. However, with a July 2018 release planned, they’re now moving into high gear, filling out the cast. That includes the announcement at Comic Con that Michelle Pfeiffer has signed up to play Janet Van Dyne in the movie.

She joins fellow newbies, Walton Goggins as Ghost, Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo.

Janet Van Dyne is the mother of Evengeline Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne, who in the film will become The Wasp. It’s potentially major casting news, as in the comics, Janet was the original Wasp and the first wife of the original Ant-Man Dr. Henry Pym (Michael Douglas). She’s also been a member of The Avengers, and was even their chairman for a time. It therefore means there’s potentially space to move Pfeiffer into other Marvel movies.

Ant-Man (Cinema Review)

July 16, 2015 By BigGayPictureShow Leave a Comment

Starring: Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Corey Stoll, Evangeline Lilly
Director: Peyton Reed
Running Time: 117 mins
Certificate: 12A
Release Date: July 17th 2015 (UK)

It’s summertime and we get another Marvel movie about a lesser known superhero. Last year we had the amazing Guardians of the Galaxy, but I was very apprehensive about this latest instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

I presume more of this story will come to light after this film’s general release, but rumour has it that general legend Edgar Wright and co-writer Joe Cornish (another legend) approached Marvel to do an Ant-Man movie long before Iron Man’s release in 2008. As we know the MCU has become a box-office phenomenon with interconnecting plots and characters all leading towards Avengers: Infinity War in 2018 and 2019. [Read more…]

New Ant-Man Trailer – Paul Rudd turns mini superhero

July 6, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Ant-Man-Teaser-Poster1-slideIn just a couple of weeks we’ll get to see whether Marvel’s gamble on Ant-Man can follow in the footsteps of Thor and Iron Man in the realms of superheroes many thought couldn’t work on the screen, but which turned out to be pretty good.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man.” Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.’

Paul Rudd & More Get Ant-Man Character Posters

June 24, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

ant-man-character-poster1The one thing the world has always needed is more posters where the person in it is all blurry. Ant-Man has decided to help the cause with a series of character posters where the main thing in focus in the little hero and not the character he’s with.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man.” Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

‘Marvel’s “Ant-Man” stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Peña as Luis, Judy Greer as Maggie, Tip “Ti” Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Wood Harris as Gale, Jordi Mollà as Castillo and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s “Ant-Man” delivers a high-stakes, tension-filled adventure on July 17, 2015.’

Little Ant-Man Gets A Big New Poster

May 6, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Ant-Man-Teaser-Poster1There comes a time in every Marvel film’s life when it needs a poster full of floating heads and bodies in an explosion of Photoshop-montage work, all while the characters look off into the middle-distance. It’s a bit daft but it works, and it has done for decades, not just for Marvel movies.

Now Ant-Man has its effort, with the costumed character himself taking centre stage, while surrounded by the likes of Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll and Michael Pena float about in the background – along with a reminder that inside the Ant-Man costume is Paul Rudd.

Take a look above.

New Ant-Man Trailer – Paul Rudd is getting very small

April 13, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

ant-man-paul-rudd-shirtlessEver since was first rumoured Ant-Man sounded like an odd hero to get a blockbuster adventure, but seeing as people said the same about pretty much every other character Marvel’s given a movie – from Iron Man to Thor – before they went on to huge success, there’s every reason to believe this new movie will be worth a look too.

And that’s backed up by a new trailer, which does look nuts but also kinda fun, and even finds time to make a joke about the fact the hero’s title is a tiny bit silly.

Beyond The Reach Trailer – Michael Douglas goes hunting… for Jeremy Irvine

February 6, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

beyond-the-reach-jeremy-irvine-michael-douglasThe deadliest animal is… MAN! It’s an oft quoted phrase and it would seem that it’s true in Beyond The Reach, where Michael Douglas decides he’d really like to shoot him some Jeremy Irvine.

Douglas play a rich man who hires a local to take him on a desert hunting trip. However the arrogant, overly confident rich guy thinks he knows it all, which leads him to making a terrible mistake and shooting someone dead that he thought was an animal. Irvine wants to do the right thing, but Douglas isn’t so keen and so ends up hunting Jeremy in order to keep his secret quiet.

It’s the sort of b-movie premise that fills the straight-to-video shelves on a weekly basis, but this is Douglas doing what he does best – bringing a little Gordon Gekko to the sun-baked desert – while Irvine looks suitable freaked out by what’s going on.

The film is in cinemas and on VOD on April 17th in the US. No UK date is currently set. [Read more…]

Ant-Man Trailer – Plus the first poster for Paul Rudd in Marvel’s movie

January 7, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

ant-man-paul-rudd-shirtlessWhile Marvel’s cinematic universe has been wildly successful, it’s not resting on its laurels and is now in expansion mode, with films about various new characters in the works. The first of those to arrive will be Ant-Man, which is due to arrive in UK cinemas July 17th, 2015.

Now to get us excited, the first trailer and ‘ant-sized’ poster for the movie have arrived, which you can see below, along with a bit of a close-up on Paul Rudd in the poster from the latest cover of EW (click on the pics for larger versions).
