Jane Got A Gun is unfortunately more intriguing for whether they’ve managed to pull it back from the mess it threatened to become than the movie itself. After ages in development the whole thing nearly collapsed the day before production was due to start when director Lynn Ramsey decided to quit.
That led to delays, a musical chairs casting roulette and Warrior’s Gavin O’Connor stepping in to helm.
However the movie is now in the can and heading to cinemas in the US in September, although no UK date is currently set, and the first images have now arrived.
Natalie Portman stars as the title character, whose husband (Noah Emmerich) comes home riddled with bullet wounds. When the band of outlaws of shot him comes to Jane’s farm to finish the job, she seeks help from a former lover (Joel Edgerton) to ward off these gunmen. Ewan McGregor is playing the leader of the bad guys, with Boyd Holbrook as his younger brother.

While Terrence Malick likes to take his time with films, there’s a chance we’ll be getting two 2015, as he shot a couple of movies back-to-back, the first of which, Knight Of Cups, will premiere at the Berlin Film Festival. And now we have a trailer for the film.






Grey Gardens and The Vow director Michael Sucsy has been hired to helm the novel adaptation Dare Me. Now he and Fox 2000 are looking towards casting the movie and, they want Natalie Portman. At the moment there’s no info on how interested she might be, but the studio is hoping to get her, according to
It seems like Jane Got A Gun is bidding to join the ranks of legendary cursed productions, as after Michael Fassbender departed shortly before production due to scheduling problems, he was joined shortly afterwards by director Lynn Ramsay, who had creative differences with the producer. That led Jude Law to depart, who was then replaced by Bradley Cooper.
