Pacific Rim Uprising IMAX Trailer – John Boyega and the giant robots take on the monsters

February 15, 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Synopsis: ‘The globe-spanning conflict between otherworldly monsters of mass destruction and the human-piloted super-machines built to vanquish them was only a prelude to the all-out assault on humanity in Pacific Rim Uprising.

‘John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) stars as the rebellious Jake Pentecost, a once-promising Jaeger pilot whose legendary father gave his life to secure humanity’s victory against the monstrous “Kaiju.” Jake has since abandoned his training only to become caught up in a criminal underworld. But when an even more unstoppable threat is unleashed to tear through our cities and bring the world to its knees, he is given one last chance to live up to his father’s legacy by his estranged sister, Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi)—who is leading a brave new generation of pilots that have grown up in the shadow of war. As they seek justice for the fallen, their only hope is to unite together in a global uprising against the forces of extinction.

‘Jake is joined by gifted rival pilot Lambert (The Fate of the Furious’ Scott Eastwood) and 15-year-old Jaeger hacker Amara (newcomer Cailee Spaeny), as the heroes of the PPDC become the only family he has left. Rising up to become the most powerful defense force to ever walk the earth, they will set course for a spectacular all-new adventure on a towering scale.”

The film will hit cinemas March 23rd, 2018. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

Scott Eastwood Joins Vin Diesel & Co. In Furious 8

April 11, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

scott-eastwood2For the past few years Scott Eastwood has seemed on the verge of making it big, but while he’s often been in the mix for major roles, he’s often failed to make the final cut. For example he will be seen in a small role in this summer’s Suicide Squad, but be missed out on several other massive Marvel and DC roles he was up for.

However, now he’s set to join one of the biggest franchises on the planet, as he’ll star in Furious 7, alongside fellow newcomer, Charlize Theron. While Theron will be the main villain, there’s little info on who Scott will play, but he did reveal on Instagram, ‘I can’t say too much, but I get to play a new character who operates under Kurt Russell in the movie, which is incredible, because Kurt was a total childhood hero of mine growing up. Very much looking forward to learning a thing or two from such an original and cool guy.’

In Furious 7, Russell’s Mr. Nobody was a mysterious government agent who does a deal with Vin Diesel and co. to help them if they help him locate a dangerous hacking device. It sounds like Eastwood will be involved with the same organisation.

The likes of Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson will all returns. Shooting kicks off soon for an April 2017 release.

Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Dave Franco & Logan Lerman On Young Han Solo Shortlist

January 11, 2016 By Tim Isaac 2 Comments

logan-lerman

The role of a young Han Solo in the planned Star Wars spin-off about the legendary character was always bound to be a hotly fought over role, and also one where Disney/Lucasfilm and directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were likely to cast a wide net while looking for the perfect person. Now Variety reports they’re narrowing in on the actorwho’ll land the role, soming up with a shortlist of a dozen names.

That list includes some hot young things, such as Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Dave Franco, Logan Lerman, Jack Reynor, Scott Eastwood, Emory Cohen, and Blake Jenner. Earlier in the search the makers considered both older and younger actors but it looks like they’ve decided their film Han Solo should be in his early 20s (although Eastwood is a little older as he’s 29).

It is very early to cast, as the movie isn’t expected to go into production until January 2017 (for release May 25, 2018). However it’s suggested the reason that they want to find their man now is because of a planned cameo in this year’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is also set before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope.

All of the finalists are now expected to screen-test and the person who’ll be filling Harrison Ford’s boots will be chosen within the next few weeks. It’ll certainly be interesting to see who they pick, as some of those on the shortlist have the swagger and others have the looks, but it’s a tough job for someone to pull both those together in a way audiences will be happy with. Whoever it is, it seems we can be assured Han is gonna be very good looking.

Crush Of The Day: Scott Eastwood Shows Off Some VPL While Out Shopping

September 15, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

scott-eastwood2There is no doubt that Scott Eastwood is one very sexy dude, but The Longest Ride and Fury star showed off perhaps a little more than he’d intended the other day when out getting supplies before a fishing trip with his friends.

While he was wearing shorts, he decided that no shirt and no underwear was a great plan. That ensured the paps who photographed him got a little more than they’d expected, including some Eastwood VPL (Visible Penis Line).

Of course, there’s no guarantee the pic wasn’t slightly touched up (if you’ll pardon the expression in Photoshop) before being released, but if it wasn’t all we can say is, bravo to Scott!

The pic was shared by E!, who perhaps initially didn’t realise what they’d gotten hold of either. [Read more…]

Scott Eastwood Says He Likes A Bit Of Gay Fan Attention & Supports Gay Marriage

April 1, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

scott-eastwood2After a couple of years looking like he’s on the verge or really breaking through in the likes of Texas Chainsaw 3D and Fury, sexy (and very often shirtless) Scott Eastwood will be hoping 2015 is his year, as he’s taking the lead in the Nicholas Evans adaptation The Longest Ride and also has Snowden, Diablo and Mercury Plains coming out. He’s also just booked a small role in Suicide Squad.

Talking to Pridesource ahead of the release of The Longest Ride, the conversation unsurprisingly got around to what he thinks about his gay fans, to which Scott says, “I love it. I don’t discriminate against any fans. Fans are fans, and gay men are great. I support gay marriage and the whole bit. I think everybody should be able to be with who they want to be with. My dad [Clint Eastwood] is the same way. He’s a total Libertarian – everyone leave everyone alone. Everyone live their own private life. And why does everyone gotta be all up in arms about it?”

When reminded about Clint saying, ‘I don’t give a fuck about who wants to get married to anybody else! Why not?!’, Scott adds, “I’d give the same fucking quote – that’s perfect. I’m a firm believer that everyone’s human. We’re only on this planet for a short period of time, and we should all just be as kind as we can to other people because, in life, all you really have is how you affect people, in a negative way or a positive way.”

As for whether we’ll be seeing him in a gay role, perhaps a Brokeback remake, he says, “Oh my gosh – that’s funny! [Laughs] To me, it’s all about the script and the director. I’m very director-driven and material-oriented, so if it’s a great script and a great director, then yeah.”

Scott Eastwood Takes The Lead In Nicholas Sparks Adaptation The Longest Ride

May 1, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Scott-Eastwood-slideIn the last couple of years Scott Eastwood has being stepping out from his father, Clint’s, shadow. He started out working with his dad in small roles in movies such as Flags Of Our Fathers, and Clint also cast him in Gran Torino and Invictus.

More recently he’s popped up in An American Crime, Chasing Mavericks, The Perfect Wave (the last two films showing his love of surfing), Texas Chainsaw 3D and the recently shot Fury alongside Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf.

Now he’s scored one of his first major leading roles in Fox 2000’s adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ recent novel The Longest Ride, according to THR.

The story follows an elderly man who gets stranded after a car crash. He ends up thinking about his past and the love of his life who he lost. In a parallel story, a cowboy (Eastwood) and a college senior fall for one another, with the relationship altering their lives forever. Eventually the two tales intertwine.

Sparks is of course the writer behind The Notebook, Dear John, The Last Song, The Lucky One and Safe Haven. George Tillman Jr. (Faster) is directing from a screenplay by Craig Bolotin.

Eastwood has also scored more than a few fans – not least amongst the gay community – for releasing a steady stream of shirtless pictures of himself. If you want to see what al the fuss is about, check out some sexy shots by clicking here and also here.

Crush Of The Day: Scott Eastwood Looking Hot & Shirtless In A New Fashion Shoot

September 17, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

scott-eastwood-town-country1
We’ve included Scott Eastwood a couple of times before in our Crush Of The Day round-ups, as there’s no doubt that Clint’s son is pretty hot, and he’s also not afraid of getting his shirt off (then again, neither would I if I had a bod like that).

He’s been looking fine again in the October 2013 issue of Town & Country magazine, photographed by Noe DeWitt, and you can take a look at the pics above and below.

Scott got first small movie role in Flags Of Our Fathers, and Clint also cast him in Gran Torino and Invictus. More recently they’ve been acting alongside one another in Trouble With The Curve.

Scott’s acting career hasn’t solely been working with his dad though, as he’s also appeared in the likes of An American Crime, Chasing Mavericks, The Perfect Wave (the last two films showing his love of surfing), Texas Chainsaw 3D and he’s currently shooting Fury alongside Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf.

Scott says, “People assumed that I would have everything handed to me, but that couldn’t be further from the truth,” he said. “I was on my own just doing the grind.” That’s not surprising as Clint didn’t publicly acknowledge he’d fathered Scot and his sister Kathryn until 2002. Indeed it’s said that on their birth certificate it simply says ‘father declined’. Scott was born just as Clint was beginning his spell as mayor of Carmel, California in 1986, which is where he grew up.

Now he’s scored another role in a major movie, as he’s signed on to star in Fury for End Of Watch writer/director David Ayer, according to Deadline. He joins Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman and Michael Pena in the World War II action drama that follows a five-man Sherman Tank crew who are stuck behind enemy lines during the tail end of the war. Scott Eastwood is set to play a member of the tank crew called Sergeant Miles.

David Ayer is directing from his own screenplay, with shooting scheduled to begin next month.
