Captain America & Batman Vs. Superman Release Date Showdown Set

March 14, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

captain-america-2-final-poster-slideA couple of days ago, Marvel head Kevin Fiege was talking about the fact that DC had moved its planned Batman Vs. Superman onto a release date that was already occupied by a then unknown Marvel movie. Fiege said they weren’t backing off the date, although wouldn’t be drawn on what the film they were making actually was.

Now we know, as THR reports that it’s Captain America 3 that’s set to be released on the same day as Batman Vs. Superman on May 6th, 2016.

So the current question is whether you would prefer to swoon at Henry Cavill or Chris Evans.

It’s turning into a massive game of chicken, as neither studio wants to end up losing audience to the other, but equally both wants to show its film is the most important and should get the prime Memorial Day release. There’s a chance both films will indeed come out on that day, although with more than two years to go, there’s a greater chance that either Marvel or DC will find an excuse to move to another date.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo are confirmed to return for Captain America 3, although it’s not known exactly when it will shoot. It’s likely to be early next year.

New Captain America: The Winter Soldier Clip Lands – Chris Evans is running and jumping all over the place

March 12, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

)
It’s just a couple of weeks until we’ll be able to tell whether the buzz suggesting Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the best Marvel yet is actually true, as it’s out March 26th, 2014 in the UK and a week later in the US.

Now a clip has arrived showing Steve Rogers and his shield in action as he races through buldings (and we literally mean through them) in pursuit of the titular Winter Soldier.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

‘Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is produced by Kevin Feige, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, and stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp and Hayley Atwell, with Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.’ [Read more…]

Chris Evans Gets A New Captain America: The Winter Soldier Poster

A few days ago we had a character poster for Anthony Mackie’s Falcon, and now Chris Evans, aka Steve Rogers, aka Captain America gets a new one for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. And he’s looking pretty heroic (even if the Photoshop fairies have perhaps been a little over-zealous).

There’s also a little info on the character that Marvel released: ‘After a top secret Super-Soldier program transformed Steve Rogers into the powerful and heroic Captain America, his amazing WWII exploits made him a living legend, but after awakening in present day following being frozen in ice for decades, Steve found himself alone in a modern world that he hardly recognized. Nevertheless, he quickly suited up as Captain America to help The Avengers defend Earth against Loki’s treachery. After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers team, Steve is living a quiet life in Washington, D.C., struggling to adjust to his new life, when he is drawn into a web of intrigue and danger to unmask a powerful but shadowy enemy that threatens to put the world at risk.’

A few days ago we got Captain America character posters featuring Steve Roger, Black Widow, Nick Fury and Robert Redford’s Alexander Pierce. Now it’s time for Anthony Mackie’s Falcon to get his own poster. And he’s certainly looking cool.

Sam Wilson, aka Falcon is an ex-military paratrooper who works with veterans in Washington, D.C. Secretly trained by the military in aerial combat using a specially designed wing pack, Falcon becomes an indispensable ally when he teams up with Captain America and Black Widow to run a danger-filled race to halt an impending threat in its tracks.

Here’s the film’s synopsis: ‘After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. Captain America: The Winter Soldier Super Bowl Spot & Trailer – Great new looks at Chris Evans & co. in the Marvel movie

February 3, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Before the Super Bowl, it was suggested there wouldn’t be that many movie ads, but in the end plenty of studio decided to flog their wares during the big game, which has resulted in a bit of a treat for movie fans. With Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Marvel decided not just to release a 30-second TV but also bring out a brand new, final trailer at the same time.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. Captain America 3 Already In The Works With Joe & Anthony Russo Set To Return To Direct

January 28, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

captain-america-2-chris-evansIt’s still a couple of months until Captain America: The Winter Soldier is being released, but Marvel must be confident it’s going to be a success. It’s not that surprising that Marvel is already thinking about Captain America 3, but it certainly suggests they reckon the second instalment is shaping up to be good as they’ve already attached to directors of Winter Soldier, Joe and Anthony Russo, to helm.

Variety has the news that the Russo’s will probably be back, although they caution that official negotiations about their return won’t happen until after Winter Soldier’s release. However great test screening results for Cap 2 has ensured Marvel has moved to attach them to a third film.

There’s no news on when we might see the film. It’ll be a couple of years at least, as not only do we have Winter Soldier, but Captain America will also appear in Avengers: Age Of Ultron before he gets another standalone adventure.

Winter Soldier hits UK cinemas on March 28th and US theatre on April 4th.

Chris Evans & Sebastian Stan Get New Captain America: The Winter Soldier Pics

December 31, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

captain-america-2-empire1
Marvel is gearing up for another big year in 2014 with Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians Of The Galaxy. Now Empire has debuted four images from the former, giving us a great look at Chris Evans standing around looking all heroic, as well as Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Redford and Sebastian Stan.

Redford is coming in as someone high up S.H.I.E.L.D., while Stan was of course Bucky Barnes in the first film, but here returns, in modified form, as the titular Winter Soldier.

When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.’

The movie’s out in April.
