Vin Diesel loves to be the first person to release images and news from any film he’s working on, and he’s done it again with The Last Witch Hunter, by posting the image above on his Facebook page, along with the slightly cryptic message, 13th century Kaulder… The Last Witch Hunter begins…’
In the movie Diesel plays one of the last remaining witch hunters, who has to partner with his longtime enemy (Rose Leslie) to prevent an evil coven from destroying New York City. Michael Caine and Elijah Wood are also set to star.
Breck Eisner is set to direct the film, working from a screenplay by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama (Dracula Untold). It’s not clear yet when it will be release.
For nearly two years Vin Diesel has been attached to The Last Witch Hunter, but it’s only now that the film is moving forwards, with the news that Elijah Wood has signed on to co-star, with Vin Diesel, Rose Leslie and Michael Caine also amongst the cast, according to 
The Karate Kid remake was a surprise hit on its 2010 release, earning $343 million worldwide. While there was early talk of a sequel, that quietened down after Jaden Smith went off to make After Earth. However now it seems things are moving forward on The Karate Kid 2 once more.
A couple of years ago Lionsgate snapped up a pitch for The Last Witch Hunter, which had Timur Bekmambetov attached to direct and produce. Since then it’s been all-change, with Bekmambetov stepping down from the director’s chair and getting replaced by The Crazies helmer Breck Eisner.
As part of its deal with Hasbro, Universal Pictures was developing a movie based on the Stretch Armstrong toy. Despite signing up Taylor Lautner to star, the films got stuck in development, before being dropped by the studio. A few months ago it was picked up by Relativity Media (who are still likely to release the film through Universal), who have chosen Breck Eisner (The Crazies) to direct, according to 
Gerard Butler always seems to be signing up for movies, although only a few of them actually come to fruition. The latest is the action thriller Manhunt, which The Crazies helmer Breck Eisner is attached to direct.
