The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 may have only just arrived on DVD, but Lionsgate is already thinking to the future and the release of the final film in the series later this year.
They’ve now released the first poster and teaser/logo for the film (via EW), and it probably won’t be a shock to find that it’s reminiscent of a lot of the earlier films, with an image of a Mockingjay, but taken from a slightly different angle.
It’s a good reminder though – as if we needed it – that later this year we’ll be able to see what happens to Katniss and her allies as they go up against the evil Capitol in a final showdown.

Lionsgate continues its Hunger Games: Mockingjay marketing effort where it’s bringing us messages from the Capitol resigned to quell rebellion in the Districts with a mix of platitudes and veiled threats about what will happen if they don’t quieten down.
A couple of weeks ago President Snow, ruler of The Hunger Games’ Panem gave us an address from The Capitol, as he knew that following the events of Catching Fire, there is dissent in the Districts and if it isn’t stamped out, the whole country could collapse.
Lionsgate is taking an interesting tack with the current marketing of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. They aren’t actually mentioning the movie and instead taking us into the propaganda of the Capitol.
When he was young, Robert Knepper was allowed to played good guys, however in recent years – particularly since his villainous role in Prison Break – he’s only been allowed to be a baddie. That’s not changing here.

While most of the main players in The Hunger Games world are in place by the end of Catching Fire, there are a few extra characters that will be introduced in the two-part adaptation of Mockingjay. Just a few days after it was revealed that Natalie Dormer is set to be Cressida in Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2 comes news that Stef Dawson will play Annie Cresta, the love interest of Finnick (Sam Claflin).
Lionsgate has announced that Game Of Thrones star Natalie Dormer has joined the cast of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 & The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, playing Cressida.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire may not be in cinemas until November, but the producers are already thinking about casting for the final two films, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and 2. 
Lionsgate must be pleased with what they’ve seen coming out of the set of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, as they’ve now decided that the director of that film, Francis Lawrence, will continue with the series, signing him to helm The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2.
