It’s just 10 days until the first ever Broadway production of John Cameron Mitchell’s awesome Hedwig And The Angry Inch officially debuts.
There are already a lot of people who are very excited about it, but just in case anyone hasn’t already booked a ticket, some new pictures featuring Neil Patrick Harris and the rest of the cast – including Lena Hall as Yitzhak – have been released via BroadwayWorld.
In the musical NPH plays the East German title character, who was left with an angry inch after a botched sex change operation that she had in order to get into the US with her American GI lover. Hedwig then started dating young Tommy Gnosis, who left her behind when he took her music and became a rock star – leaving her understandably bitter (but still very funny).
Previews have already started at the Belasco Theatre, ready for the big launch next week.

As an alternative, Logo TV launched a bracket style tournament for pop culture fans with a twist, it’s a battle for the title of Gayest Cartoon Character of All Time. Last night, during the double episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Roger, the wise cracking alien from American Dad, was crowned the winner after besting 31 of animation’s biggest names.
If you look into the Disney archive you’ll find a few rather unsavoury things. While to some these racist and anti-Semitic comic strips and cartoons are evidence that the House Of Mouse is and always has been evil incarnate, they’re really more evidence that the past was a very different place.
Things have certainly changed since the very early days of cinema. We’ve gone from silent cinema shot on film cameras that were cranked by hand to the new world of digital 3D – and a lot inbetween, from the advent of widescreen to surround sound.
