Cute Animated Gay Short Looks At The Difficulty Of Coming Out (Possibly on a roller coaster)

May 9, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Filmmaker Hamish Steele has come up with an extremely cute animated short, all about one guy’s attempts to come out to his friend. However he keeps putting it off.

The film is loosely based on the London-based Steele’s own life, telling NewNowNext, “Yes – I did once try and come out to a friend on a roller coaster.”

It’s short, sweet and well worth watching, with a great ending, so take a look above. I’m sure that many of you will also have faced the difficult of finding the right time. [Read more…]

Chatting With Joshua Tree Director Matthew Mishory About His Film & James Dean’s Sexuality

May 9, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Matthew-mishory
Matthew Mishory’s movie, Joshua Tree, 1951: A Portrait of James Dean, has been a big success on the film festival circuit. The movie looks at Dean when he was a young lad from Indiana on the cusp of stardom, exploring the opportunities and pressures that presents. It also doesn’t shy away from Dean’s sexuality, giving him the queer identity that many over the years have suggested he had.

We caught up with Mishory to talk about the film, ahead of its UK DVD release on May 13th. [Read more…]

Leonardo DiCaprio Talks Gay Marriage Support & The Great Gatsby

May 9, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Leonardo DiCaprio recently sat down with NewNowNext for a chat about his latest film, The Great Gatsby. Of course there’s plenty of chat about the movie, including its fashion and romance, but it was a rare opportunity for a gay specific site to have a chat with the actor, which led to a brief show of gay rights support from the actor when he congratulated the interviewer on his upcoming marriage.

Leo is a big supporter of LGBT equality, including donating thousands of dollars recently to GLAAD at their media awards.

The Great Gatsby arrives in US cinemas on May 10th and May 17th in the UK.

A New C-IN2 Underwear Advert Gets Too Hot For Facebook

May 9, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Facebook’s rules on suggestive content do seem to be a bit all over the place and selectively enforced, and one video that fell foul of their rules was a new advert for C-IN2 underwear.

There are certainly plenty of shots of beefy guys wearing just their skivvies – and some ladies wander round in their undies too – but to be honest, we’ve seen a lot worse on Facebook. It’s certainly a bit sexy, but there is a hell of a lot worse out there!

Take a look above and decided for yourself whether it should have been banned. [Read more…]

James Franco, Edward Norton and Zach Galifianakis Decide To Marry Men In A New Vid

May 9, 2013 By Tim Isaac 1 Comment

James Franco, Edward Norton and Zach Galifianakis may spend most of their time being movie stars, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have time to fit in a fun web video if an idea takes their fancy.

They’ve teamed up with Andy Samberg and the rest of the Lonely Island crew for a vid which starts off as an episode of Galifianakis’ Between Two Ferns web series, where Franco gets asked awkward questions about his penis. However it then breaks into a Spring Break Anthem where all the guys decide to marry one another!

Take a look above. [Read more…]

Apropos Of Nothing: Andrew Christian Gets Hot & Wet With A Miami Carwash

May 7, 2013 By Tim Isaac 2 Comments

andrew-christian-miami-carwash
The Andrew Christian underwear guys are at it again, getting gratuitously homoerotic once again and heading to Miami to have a carwash. Inevitably that means getting far wetter than they need to and grinding against the motor in an unnecessarily sexy fashion.

If that weren’t enough, another load of boys turn up – who are of course out in their car wearing just their bulge-enhancing undies – to get us even more hot under the collar.

If you enjoy the vid below, there are plenty more to enjoy, and you can click here to find some of them or head over to the AC site. [Read more…]

Chris Pine Talks About His Bromance With Zachary Quinto & Spooning With Guys

May 7, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

chris-pine-out-magazine3Chris Pine is busy on the publicity trail for Star Trek Into Darkness, which includes being the cover star on this month’s Out Magazine, and in the interview inside he talks about his bromance with Zachary Quinto, respecting his co-star’s privacy and his first job, which involved spooning with Tom Everett Scott.

Talking about Quinto’s coming out, he says, “So happy for him, oh man, I thought it was rad. It was really, really cool. He did it on his own time, on his own schedule. And Jonathan [Groff], who he’s dating, is such a lovely man. He’s a good guy and a great actor, and they make a fantastic couple. I couldn’t have been happier for Zach.”

Of course, Pine knew about Quinto’s sexuality before the general public, but was happy to allow Zach to come out on his own terms. He’s says, “It was just who Zach was and that’s that. I’m sensitive, and I don’t ever want to make anyone feel uncomfortable. Knowing that for Zach it was more about a career thing and that he was not comfortable at the time coming out—it was fine. It was something that we kind of tiptoed around and I just took it was a given, because that’s what he wanted.”

Even before he met Quinto, he’d had experience of the gay world. “My first intimate scene [onscreen] was with Tom Everett Scott,” Pine says. “He’s an incredible spooner — very warm, very sensitive.”

The film in question was Surrender, Dorothy, which co-starred Diane Keaton. You can take a look at a clip of Pine in drag in that film at the bottom of this post.

He also wishes he could be part of Ryan Murphy’s LGBT-themed AIDS drama, The Normal Heart, but timings won’t permit it. “I would have done that in a fucking heartbeat,” Pine reveals. “Right now I just want to play good roles, and if the role happens to be a gay man, that’s not of any import other than is it a good story? Does it say something that’s interesting?”

The film already has has the likes of Mark Ruffalo, Julia Roberts, Matt Bomer, Taylro Kitsch, Jim Parsons and Quinto’s boyfriend, Jonathan Groff, set to star, so Chris Pine would have been in starry company.

The full interview is in this month’s Out, and you can take a look at some of the accompanying pics, by Nino Munoz, below (click on them for larger versions). [Read more…]

Seth Rogen Admits To Having A Major Man-Crush On Zac Efron

May 5, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It seems that Zac Efron’s charms aren’t even lost on straight guys, as Seth Rogen has admitted to being rather in awe of the 25-year-old actor and his immense sexiness. Talking to People about his co-star in the upcoming Townies, Rogen says, “Zac Efron is incredibly handsome. He’s the sexiest [expletive] on the planet!”

He even says it can be a little intimidating to be around him, especially if clothes start getting removed. “I did a scene with him,” Rogen says, “and we’re both shirtless, and it was a very humbling experience. I marveled at the fact that we’re literally the same species. I’m hairier than he is, so I win at that.”

In Townies, Rogen plays a man who lives close to a fraternity house, which is led by the raucous Efron, and reaches a breaking point with their wild antics. Rose Byrne and Dave Franco also star. The movie is shooting now with Nicholas Stoller (The Five-Year Engagement) directing.

Boys On Film: Getting ‘Together’ With Actor Lucas Hansen

April 30, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

boys-on-film-9-review-slide
We’ve been having an interesting time interviewing the actors and directors involved in the new LGBT short film collection, Boys On Film 9: Youth In Trouble. We’ve chatted to Prora actors Tom Gramenz, The Wilding director Grant Scicluna and It’s Not A Cowboy Helmer Benjamin Parent.

Now we get to out final interview, with Together actor Lucas Hansen. He’s recognisable to horror fans from his role in The Human Centipede II and has also been seen on Psoro and the recent TV documentary, Murder on the Victorian Railway.

In Together, Hansen plays one half of a gay couple who’ve just moved in a new flat. When his partner goes missing, he thinks he’s just wandered off for a while, but the truth is far more disturbing.

We talks to Lucas about the film and whether he thinks we’re seeing a new breed of LGBT-themed movies. [Read more…]

Behind the Candelabra – Invitation To The Set Behind-The Scenes Video

April 30, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

In less than a month, HBO will debut Steven Soderbergh’s Liberace biopic, Behind The Candelabra, before it gets released in cinemas outside the US (it reaches the UK on June 7th). Now HBO has released a short new promo, giving us a look behind-the-scenes on the movie, which stars Michael Douglas as Liberace and Matt Damon as his younger lover, Scott Thorson.

The film details their relationship, which saw Liberace publicly saying he was straight, while having his toyboy at home. Things went sour when they broke up and Scott sued the glamorous pianist for alimony.

The promo sees screenwriter Richard Lagavenese talking about the movie and what we can expect from the film.

Steven Soderbergh has also recent been addreesing how true the film is to Out.com, telling them that Scott and Liberace tell “completely different stories” about Scott’s plastic surgery. “So somebody is not telling the truth,” Soderbergh said, who has seen the depositions in their court case. “We went with Scott’s version because I love the image of Lee bringing the painting over and saying, ‘I want him to look like this.'”

This Friday, HBO will air The Making of Behind the Candelabra, giving people a closer look at the production, so take a look if you’re interested.
