Seth Grahame-Smith May Direct Ezra Miller In The Flash

October 5, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Seth-Grahame-SmithDC has extremely ambitious plans to create a comic book movie universe to rival Marvel’s, with the seeds being sown with next year’s Batman v Superman. That will lead into all sorts of film running up to a full-on Justice League film and beyond.

One of those movies may have find its director, as THR reports that Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, Dark Shadows and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter writer Seth Grahame-Smith is in talks to helm The Flash.

Ezra Miller is set to play the character on the big screen (Grant Gustin will continue to play the superhero on the small screen), which will be introduced in next year’s Barman V Superman, will them be part of the two-part Justice League movie in 2017 and 2019, while his standalone film will come in the middle, in 2018.

It would be Graham-Smith’s first movie as a director, so it’s a big film to make your debut with, although he has extensive credits as both a writer and producer. He’s also currently attached to script project such as The Lego Batman Movie, a Gremlins reboot and new Looney Tunes film (all for Warner Bros.).

Final Spectre Trailer – It’s all action as Daniel Craig’s 007 returns

October 3, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

spectre-slideSam Smith’s Writing’s On The Wall has just become the first Bond theme ever to reach number 1 on the UK single’s charts, and it’s just a few weeks until Spectre reaches cinemas, hoping to match the gargantual success of Skyfall.

And just in case we needed another reminder of 007’s imminent return, as final trailer has been released.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘A cryptic message from the past sends James Bond (Daniel Craig) on a rogue mission to Mexico City and eventually Rome, where he meets Lucia Sciarra (Monica Bellucci), the beautiful and forbidden widow of an infamous criminal. Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE.

‘Meanwhile back in London, Max Denbigh (Andrew Scott), the new head of the Centre for National Security, questions Bond’s actions and challenges the relevance of MI6, led by M (Ralph Fiennes). Bond covertly enlists Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw) to help him seek out Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux), the daughter of his old nemesis Mr White (Jesper Christensen), who may hold the clue to untangling the web of SPECTRE. As the daughter of an assassin, she understands Bond in a way most others cannot.

‘As Bond ventures towards the heart of SPECTRE, he learns of a chilling connection between himself and the enemy he seeks, played by Christoph Waltz.’

‘Sam Mendes returns to direct SPECTRE, with Daniel Craig reprising his role as 007 for the fourth time.’

First Pic From Bridget Jones’s Baby Arrives – Renee Zellweger Is Back!

October 3, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

bridget-jones-baby-pic1While there’s certainly not the buzz that there was when the first Bridget Jones movie went into production, the character is heading back to cinemas soon in Bridget Jones’ Baby, and to show us that Renee Zellweger is indeed back on set, the first image has been released.

It doesn’t exactly show us much, but it’s still out first look.

Not much is known about the film’s plot, although it is known that – unsurprisingly considering the title – it will see Bridget getting unexpectedly pregnant. We’re presuming she’s be older but probably not that much wiser.

Colin Firth will also be back, although there’s no Hugh Grant this time around. Patrick Dempsey also recently joined the cast.

Taika Waititi In Talks To Helm Thor: Ragnarok

October 3, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

taiki-waititiWith the Marvel universe ever-expanding, the company is on a seemingly never-ending search for the right talent to put the movies together. Now they may have found one of the pieces for Thor: Ragnarok, as TheWrap reports that Taika Waititi is in talks to direct.

Zombieland’s Ruben Fleischer was also apparently in contention, but Marvel decided to go for Waititi, who’s best know for indie fare such as Eagle vs Shark, Boy, What We Do in the Shadows, as well as being part of the team behind Flight of the Conchords.. It’s interesting that both men are known for being able to handle both comedy and drama, which may give a hint at Ragnarok’s tone.

Assuming be sign on Waititi will be calling the shots on set next year, with Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Jaimie Alexander all known to be returning. It’ll be in cinemas July 2017.

Love Trailer – Take a glance at Gaspar Noe’s X-rated 3D flick

September 30, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

love-slideDirector Gaspar Noe has always enjoyed going to the edge, whether it’s the controversial rape scene and violence of Irreversible, or the sex of We Fuck Alone (which featured a man having x-rated sex with a doll).

Now he’s back with a movie that on the surface is a little more straightforward than his earlier work, except that Love is an art film about a relationship, which features x-rated sex and was shot in 3D. Noe debuted the work at Cannes, where many suggested that while most of the film is a realistic look at human relationships, every so often it breaks into 3D explicit sex.

Unsurprisingly the trailer doesn’t have any nudity or sex, but it still gives a decent taste of the film.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Argentinian auteur Gaspar Noé’s new film, Love, wowed audiences during its world premiere at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, and it’s finally hitting theaters next month. The semi-autobiographical, sexually-charged movie was shot in stereoscopic 3D, and it’s the director’s most narratively ambitious film since 2009’s Enter the Void.

The film follows Murphy, who wakes in his apartment one New Year’s Day to a frantic call from his ex-girlfriend’s mother. His ex, Electra, has been missing for months and her mother fears the worst. Over the course of a long, rainy day, Murphy finds himself alone in his apartment, reminiscing about the greatest love affair of his life—the two years he spent with Electra.’ [Read more…]

The Revenant Trailer – Leonardo DiCaprio is left for dead in the American wilderness

September 30, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

revenant-pic1-slideAlthough there’s a lot of good buzz for The Revenant, with some saying it could have a strong showing during the upcoming award season, there are also plenty of stories of its difficult production, which went over-budget and stretched out for months longer than originally planned.

Whether or not it will bring Leo DiCaprio the Oscar many think he deserves we’ll have to wait and see.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Inspired by true events, THE REVENANT is an immersive and visceral cinematic experience capturing one man’s epic adventure of survival and the extraordinary power of the human spirit. In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption. THE REVENANT is directed and co-written by renowned filmmaker, Academy Award-winner Alejandro González Iñárritu (Birdman, Babel).’

It’ll be in UK cinemas January 15th. [Read more…]

Burnt Trailer – Bradley Cooper is a chef in need of something new

September 30, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

burnt-bradley-cooperOriginally titled Chef, Bradley Cooper’s new movie ended up changing its name to Adam Cooper to ensure no one confused it with Jon Favreau’s movie from last year, which had the same title. Now we’ve got a new trailer for the film, which is now called Burnt, to give us a taste of the movie.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Adam Jones (four-time Academy Award® nominee Bradley Cooper) was a Michelin starred chef riding high at the top of the Paris restaurant scene, until his dangerous lifestyle caught up with him and he lost it all. With most of his rivals thinking he’s dead, Adam heads to London with a plan to explode back onto the restaurant scene.

‘BURNT is written by Academy Award® nominee Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Locke, ‘Peaky Blinders’) and directed by six-time Primetime Emmy winner John Wells (August: Osage County, ‘ER’).’ [Read more…]
