The recent Goodbye Christopher Robin took a traditional biopic look at Winnie The Pooh creator AA Milne. Well, Disney has a slightly different take on the life of Milne’s son, Christopher Robin, by completely fictionalising it and turning Winnie into a CG character in a live-action world.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘In the heartwarming live action adventure, the young boy who embarked on countless adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with his band of spirited and lovable stuffed animals, has grown up and lost his way. Now it is up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin remember the loving and playful boy who is still inside.
‘Disney’s “Christopher Robin” is directed by Marc Forster from a screenplay by Alex Ross Perry and Allison Schroeder and a story by Perry based on characters created by A.A. Milne. The producers are Brigham Taylor and Kristin Burr with Renée Wolfe and Jeremy Johns serving as executive producers. The film stars Ewan McGregor as Christopher Robin; Hayley Atwell as his wife Evelyn; Bronte Carmichael as his daughter Madeline; and Mark Gatiss as Keith Winslow, Robin’s boss. The film also features the voices of: Jim Cummings as Winnie the Pooh; Chris O’Dowd as Tigger; Brad Garrett as Eeyore; Toby Jones as Owl; Nick Mohammed as Piglet; Peter Capaldi as Rabbit; and Sophie Okonedo as Kanga.’
The film is due in cinemas in August. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]
Wonder Park’s synopsis doesn’t tell us a lot, just saying, ‘Wonder Park tells the story of a magnificent amusement park where the imagination of a wildly creative girl named June comes alive.’ However, the first trailer has arrived to give us a better taste of what could be a fun film.

The voices have grown loud enough that it’s difficult to imagine the major actors and their agents are completely unaware that the tide has shifted.
Tab Hunter, the 1950s star of the likes of Damn Yankees!, who came out as gay in his 2005 memoir, has died, aged 86. Born Arthur Andrew Kelm on July 11th, 1931, Tab was a talented ice skater and horse rider as a teen, who joined the coastguard and then almost accidentally segued into acting.

Once again a major tentpole Hollywood release has toyed with having a LGBT major character, but then backed out of explicitly mentioning by leaving it on the cutting room floor. Following in the footsteps of the likes of Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok, Vice Admiral Holdo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and (allegedly) Dumbledore in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, is Dr. Zia Rodriguez in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
Many were surprised by just how good Creed was, bringing new life to the Rocky franchise and ensuring a sequel was quickly put in the works. That follow-up is now on its way, and you can take a look at the first trailer and poster below.
Director Robert Zemeckis returns with Welcome To Marwen, which some think may be in the award season running next year (although it’s way too early to say). It’s certainly being lined up for one with a late 2018 release planned.
The Meg may be one of the worst film titles around (and even worse than the book it’s based on, which was simply titled ‘Meg’), but the movie might prove to be guilty pleasure fun. It’s basically Jaws on steroids but with its tongue slightly in its cheek.
Amandla Stenberg is part of a generation of young artists and performers who seem more comfortable talking about their sexuality than has been true for many of those older than them. The actress has previously talked about being queer, bisexual, pansexual and/or gender fluid, but now the 19-year has said that she currently identifies as gay.
