Will Arnold Schwarzenegger Be The Villain in Avatar 2?

September 17, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

arnold-schwarzenegger
It’s a rumour that was bound to emerge at some point and indeed has been murmuring in the background for some time, but that doesn’t necessarily mean there’s no truth in it. Now Latino Review says they’re confirming from sources deep within the production that Arnold Schwarzenegger will reunite with James Cameron for Avatar 2.

There’s no news on this from 20th Century Fox or Cameron so it’s just a rumour at the moment.

Avatar 2 will pick up where the first film ended, with Jake Sully permanently transferring his consciousness into his Na’vi avatar so that he can live his new life with Princess Neytiri. Cameron has previously said that,”It would be a continuation of their story and I expect that those nasty humans didn’t go away forever.”

The rumour says that Arnie will play the main nasty human in this follow-up, playing a general who hopes to colonize and quarantine the Na’vi.

Cameron and Arnie first teamed up for The Terminator together in 1984, and then made Terminator 2: Judgment Day in 1991 and True Lies in 1994.

Avatar will shoot back-to-back with parts 3 and 4, with filming expected to start early next year.

They said: ‘It’s official! Please welcome Lily Rabe as Commander Lyme to the cast of @TheHungerGames: Mockingjay Parts 1&2’

Commander Lyme comes from District 2 and is a previous Hunger Games tournament, who becomes an important part of the rebellion against the Capitol that has been brewing even since Katniss and Peeta went into the brutal arena.

Insidious 3 Already In The Works For Next Year

September 16, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

insidious-chapter-2-quadOver the weekend, James Wan became only the third director to have two movies in one year that opened above $40 million at the US box office, with The Conjuring and Insidious Chapter Two (the first to do it were the Wachowskis with The Matrix sequels). Unsurprisingly, after the success of the Insidious follow-up, Entertainment One (eOne), FilmDistrict, and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions have been quick to announce they are developing Insidious 3.

However, whether Wan will have a chance to direct is another matter, as he’s currently on the Fast & Furious 7 set, which should keep him busy for quite a while. However Leigh Whannell, who wrote both Insidious and Insidious Chapter 2, has signed on to pen the third instalment, but there’s no word on whether Wan will be anything more than a producer this time around. Jason Blum and his Blumhouse Productions are also back to produce.

Blum commented,”FilmDistrict, eOne and SPWA have been incredible partners on the Insidious franchise. We are all so grateful for how audiences embraced James Wan and Leigh Whannell ‘s latest film and are excited to see what Leigh has in store for the third chapter.”

The first Insidious told the story of Josh and Renai Lambert and their son Dalton, confronting the demons that possess the young boy. Insidious Chapter 2 follows the haunted Lambert family as they seek to uncover the mysterious childhood secret that has left them dangerously connected to the spirit world. Insidious 3 comes to cinemas September 2014.

Unhung Hero Trailer – A man sets out to see whether size really matters after being dumped due to his penis size

September 16, 2013 By Tim Isaac 1 Comment

unhung-hero-poster-slide
There would be little more crushing than proposing to somebody, only for them to turn you down and run off. But how about if you were doing that in public at a sports event. Oh, and the proposal was being shown to the entire crowd on the stadium camera? Add to that the video being uploaded to Youtube and you’ve got yourself an astonishingly embarrassing situation.

If all that weren’t enough, let’s add in that you were told you got turned down partially because your penis wasn’t too small. Ouch.

That’s exactly what happened to Patrick Moote when he proposed to his girlfriend. He’s now the subject and star of the ‘cock-umentary’ Unhung Hero. The experience of having his proposal turned down sets him off on a quest to find out whether size really does matter, talking to doctors and experts, such as relationship columnist and It Gets Better co-founder Dan Savage. He also meets Jonah Falcon, who has what is supposedly the largest known penis in the world (at 13.5 inches) and says that being ridiculously massive isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. And if you do feel too small, is there anything you can do to make it bigger?

From the trailer (find it below) it certainly seems that penis size matters to some (and yes, we’re looking in your direction size queens), although perhaps the importance is actually more cultural than physical.

I actually know a few un-size queens who actively avoid those with big members, as they find the sex uncomfortable and more difficult. They also reckon that the guys attached to the large penises are pretty bad in the sack, as many of the well-packed men think bringing their schlong is all they need to do. It’s all a matter of taste, I suppose!

Breaking Glass Pictures recently picked up the US rights, with plans for a limited theatrical release in the autumn, followed by DVD and VoD. [Read more…]

I Do Trailer – A gay man enters a marriage of convenience with his lesbian friend

September 16, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Until very recently, gay foreigners wanting to live in the US have faced huge problems getting a green card. DOMA meant their relationships weren’t recignised, those with HIV weren’t even meant to be allowed into the country and compared to straight people the immigration odds were stacked against them.

That’s the world I Do Inhabits, which reaches DVD in the UK on October 28th. You can take a look at the trailer above.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Whilst looking after his niece and sister-in-law (Alicia Witt), Jack (David W. Ross from 90s boy band, Bad Boys Inc) a British gay man living in in New York City, finds himself at risk of losing his family when his work visa is denied. Threatened with deportation he has to compromise his ideals in order stay in the USA and enters into marriage of convenience with his lesbian best friend, Ali (The Sopranos star, Jamie-Lynn Sigler). The couple quickly wed but have to prove the validity of their marriage to the authorities.

Glenn Gaylord (producer of Leave It on the Floor) directs a contemporary romantic drama addressing equality issues and personal dilemmas. Featuring a stellar cast headed by David W. Ross, I Do is a touching and important film in the face of the global news of DOMA, gay marriage and immigration law.’ [Read more…]

Grace Of Monaco Teaser – Nicole Kidman does her best Grace Kelly impression

September 16, 2013 By Tim Isaac 2 Comments

The Principality Of Monaco is already a bit techy about Grace Of Monaco, saying they don’t think it’s a proper true representation of a short part of Grace Kelly’s life, after she became wife to the leader of the small nation. But then, ever since Kelly retired from movies when she married, the royal family has been incredibly protective of her and her memory.

Now the first teaser trailer is here.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The story of former Hollywood star Grace Kelly’s crisis of marriage and identity, during a political dispute between Monaco’s Prince Rainier III and France’s Charles De Gaulle, and a looming French invasion of Monaco in the early 1960s.’

The supposed invasion was when French President Charles de Gaulle handed Grace’s husband Crown Prince Rainier (Tim Roth) a six-month deadline to reform Monaco’s financial laws and status as an extreme tax haven. Monaco has said the film overstates the threat of an actual invasion, as well as Kelly’s involvement in it, but then, this is Hollywood – where Grace made her name – so what did they expect?

Frank Langella, Parker Posey, Milo Ventimiglia, and Paz Vega also star. It’s due in UK cinemas at the end of November. [Read more…]

Behind The Candelabra Dominates Creative Arts Emmys On A Good Night For LGBT

September 16, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

BEHIND-THE-CANDELABRA-michael-douglas
It was a great night for Behind The Candelabra at the Creative Arts Emmys, as it won eight awards out of the nine categories it was nominated in. The HBO movie, starring Matt Damon and Michael Douglas, won in the casting, art direction, picture editing, hairstyling, sound mixing, non-prosthetic makeup, prosthetic makeup, and costumes categories.

It’s a great result for the gay-themed Liberace biopic, and it’s not finished yet. Behind The Candelabra is also nominated in the directing, writing, supporting actor, lead actor (with both Douglas and Damon nominated) and top miniseries/movie categories at next week’s Primetime Emmys ceremony. If it takes all of them, it would equal the record for most Emmys by a movie or miniseries, which was set by John Adams, with 13, in 2008.

Behind The Candelabra wasn’t the only LGBT winner at awards shindig, as Dan Bucatinsky of Scandal picked up Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series for playing gay journalist James Novak, who really love his family but has to deal with a rather scheming husband.

In real life Bucatinsky is married to Opposite Of Sex and Happy Endings director Don Roos. As the actor said in his acceptance speech, “How many guys get to (thank) their onscreen husband and their real-life husband? Thank you, Supreme Court of the United States.”

Tim Gunn of Project Runway won outstanding host for a reality or reality-competition show, alongside Heidi Klum, while Lily Tomlin picked up the trophy for best voice-over performance for her narration of ‘An Apology to Elephants’, a documentary about the treatment of captive elephants.

Neil Patrick Harris hosts the Primetime Emmy next Sunday.

Paul Walker & Vin Diesel Stare In The First Official Fast & Furious 7 Image

September 16, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

fast-and-furious-7-pic1
Vin Diesel loves to share things with his fans on his Facebook page. He spent years keeping them up to date on Riddick and now he’s released the first image from Fast & Furious 7, which shows the actor alongside Paul Walker looking very serious by a lake.

There’s not been too much new on the plot, other than the film will return the series to LA, with Diesel and Walker going up against Jason Statham as Ian Shaw, the brother of Fast & Furious 6 villain, Owen Shaw (Luke Evans). New cast additions for the franchise include UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, martial artist Tony Jaa, Game of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel, Djimon Hounsou and Kurt Russell, with returning actors including Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Dwayne Johnson and Jordana Brewster.

James Wan (The Conjuring, Insidious Chapter 2) is directing from a screenplay by Chris Morgan. The film starts shooting later this year for release July 11th, 2014

Insidious Chapter 2 Hits It Big At The US Box Office

September 16, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

insidious-chapter-2-poster1After a few low budget horror flops, news of the genre’s demise has been extremely premature, as Insidious Chapter 2 has scored the second highest September opening ever with $41 million, behind only last year’s Hotel Transylvania.

It’s three time more than the first movie took when it opened, suggesting the franchise has gained a lot of fans, and about on par with the same director’s The Conjuring, which opened in July.

The only other new entry in the top 10 was The Family, which took a decent but unspectacular $14.5 million. That said, it’s actually one of Robert De Niro’s best openings for years outside the Meet The Fockers franchise. However with mediocre word of mouth, it’s unlikely to do well over the coming weeks.

There was good news for The Butler, which passed the $100 million mark at the North American box office.

Take a look below for the US box office top 10 for the weekend of September 13th-15th.

Rank Title Weekend Gross (millions) Total Gross to date (millions)
1 Insidious Chapter 2 $41.0 $41.0
2 The Family $14.5 $14.5
3 Riddick $7.0 $31.2
4 Lee Daniels’ The Butler $5.5 $100.0
5 We’re The Millers $5.4 $131.6
6 Instructions Not Included $4.2 $26.5
7 Planes $3.0 $82.9
8 One Direction: This Is Us $2.4 $26.8
9 Elysium $2.0 $88.3
10 Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters $1.8 $62.0

Glee’s Grant Gustin To Play The Flash In Arrow & His Own Spin-Off Series

September 14, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

grant-gustinSome of you may remember Grant Gustin as Glee’s Sebastian, who tried to steal Blane from Kurt. He’s also popped up on 90210 and the TV movie A Mother’s Nightmare. Now he may be getting his own series, as TheWrap reports that he’s been cast as The Flash in Arrow.

The plan is that the DC Comics character will appear in three episode of Season 2 of Arrow. He’ll be introduced in episodes 8 and 9, before returning in episode 20, which will also act as a backdoor pilot for a standalone Flash series, which is currently planned to start airing in 2014.

Gustin’s character will be called Barry, who is a Central City assistant police forensic investigator who comes to Starling City to look into a series of unexplained robberies. ‘A comic book fan boy, who is obsessed with Arrow (Stephen Amell) unaware that working with Oliver and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) to solve the crime has brought him right into the dangerous world of the vigilante.’

As with Arrow, the idea is to try to base things at least tangentially in reality. However, it hasn’t been revealed how this will fit with the fact Flash is best known for his ‘super-speed’, which suggests Barry is going to have to get at least some superpowers. The character will initially be a normal person, who will transition into The Flash over the course of his Arrow episodes.

Stephen Amell commented on Twitter ‘Hey @grantgust… You should probably start stretching your hamstrings like… immediately. Congratulations!! #Flash’.

Co-star Colton Haynes added, ‘#Arrowseason2 has found it’s Flash! Congrats @GrantGust , welcome aboard bud!’
