Julia Roberts Wants To Fool Me Once In A Harlan Coben Adaptation

March 29, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

julia-robertsJulia Roberts hasn’t had many big hits in the past few years, partly due to the fact she cut down on her hectic acting schedule so she’s have more time to spend with her family. However, she certainly hasn’t retired, and now Variety reports she’s planning to produce and star in the film, Fool Me Once.

The movie will be based on the just published Harlan Coben novel, which ‘follows a former special ops pilot Maya (Roberts) who sees an unthinkable image captured by her nanny cam while she is at work: her 2-year-old daughter playing with Maya’s husband, Joe — who had been brutally murdered two weeks earlier.’

Yep, you’d certainly be freaked out if you saw your dead husband playing with your kid, and we’re presuming there isn’t a supernatural explanation, and instead her hubby has faked his death. There’s no news on when the film might hit cinemas.

Like Cattle Towards Glow Trailer – Get a glimpse of the strange, explicit and ‘unknowable’ gay film

March 28, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

like-cattle-towards-glow-slideIt’s certainly difficult what to make of the gay-themed film Like Cattle Towards Glow from this trailer, but it’s certainly intriguing and rather enticing. It looks like the film that might be able to give your brain cells a workout while also being fairly erotic.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Dennis Cooper and Zac Farley’s Like Cattle Towards Glow is a 93 minute film consisting of five independent, thematically and emotionally interconnected scenes. The film is a complex, intimate, strangely serene, wide-ranging, and always challenging exploration of sexual desire as a hiding place. In these unique, stylistically and temperamentally diverse scenes, each one featuring its own set of characters and storyline, sex makes a promise of something so intense and untenable to the characters that they feel they must enter it in secret — through an act of violence, or under the guise of an unrelated transaction, or by rationalizing its dangers away with the help of politics, or through utilizing it remotely as material for a purely aesthetic project. Like these characters, and like sex itself, Like Cattle Towards Glow is as deep, knowing, and unknowable as it is raucous, original, and explicit on the surface.’

TLA Releasing will release the movie later this year. Before that get a glimpse below. [Read more…]

First Look At Wonder Woman Alongside The Amazonian Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Lisa Loven Kongsli

March 26, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

wonder-woman-and-amazonsTo tie in with the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, a new pic from Wonder Woman has been released, featuring the title character alongside some of the Amazonian women, including Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright and Lisa Loven Kongsli.

Nielsen is playing Wonder Woman’s mom, Hippolyta, with Wright as General Antiope and Kongsli as Antiope’s lieutenant, Menalippe. All of them live on Themyscira, a island that is hidden from the rest of the world, where the fierce Amazonian women of Greek legend still thrive.

EW comments, ‘Hippolyta, a revolutionary leader, longs to shelter her beloved daughter from the outside world, but Antiope, the Amazon responsible for Diana’s training, wants to prepare her. “She is the only child they raised together,” says [director, Patty Jenkins], calling from outside London, where she is deep into the film’s production. “And their love for her manifests in a different way for each of them.”

Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman makes her debut in Batman v Superman, all ready to set up her own solo adventure, which Warner/DC will bring to cinemas in June 2017.

While bad boy Todd ran off to Los Angeles and is now out and proud, Chet stayed at home (and mostly closeted) to run the family hardware store and care for their ailing father until the father’s recent death.
