Rob Cantor Defeats A Murderous, Cannibal Shia LaBeouf With The Help Of The Gay Men’s Chorus Of Los Angeles – Live

October 22, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

shia-labeouf-liveWe all know that Shia LaBeouf has been having an, erm, unusual year, with his penchant for wearing paper bags on his heads, sitting in rooms silently as an art installation, getting thrown out of a theater for being a bit nuts and then heading off to rehab.

However what many don’t know is that he’s also a bloodthirsty, murderous, serial killing cannibal. Musician and comedian Rob Cantor tried to tell us this a few years ago with the song ‘Shia LaBeouf’, and to help spread the message he’s now gone live with the tune in a rather spectacular way.

He’s even enlisted the help of The Gay Men’s Chorus Of Los Angeles, The West L.A. Children’s Choir and the Argus Quartet, all performing the song for one special audience member. You can take a look at it below.

It’s a bit bizarre and a huge amount of fun, and the ending even gets you wondering whether the tune is now more of a statement about the actor than it was when it was first written (not that he really is a cannibal, of course). [Read more…]

My Gay Roommate – Season 3, Ep 7: Partners In Crime – It’s time for a musical finale

October 22, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

my-gay-roommate-s3-ep7I have to say I suspected that My Gay Roommate would go off the boil with Season 3, mainly as Nick getting a new roommate seemed to be a major change that could have easily ruined things. Instead though it’s been better than it ever has, with plenty of wit, wonderful surreal moments and an often surprisingly smart take on modern gay/straight life.

However now it’s time to bid the show farewell for a while, as the final episode of Season 3 is here.

And it’s time for gay Nick and straight Ed to take stock – with all the madness that’s been going on around them, they haven’t really had time to think about whether living together is working out. But when their S&M ‘monster’ leaves, they have to decide whether they should remain roomies and that if they do, perhaps together they could both reach new heights.

And there’s even time for a musical number!

Take a look at the new episode below, and you can catch up on the rest of Season 3 by clicking here. [Read more…]

Go-Go Boy Interrupted Eps. 2 & 3 – Danny deals with life outside the gay nightclubs

October 22, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

go-go-boy-interrupted-episode-2A few weeks ago we posted the first episode of the fun new web series Go-Go Boy Interrupted, and now we’ve got the next two installments, which follow the adventures of Danny, a 29-year-old go-go boy who suddenly finds himself fired from his job and having to make his way in the world. However gyrating for randy gay club-goers doesn’t necessarily offer a lot of transferable skills.

In Episode 2 Danny is still up to his go-go boy tricks of blacking out and isn’t 100% sure who the man he wakes up in bed with is. That’s followed by ‘It’s Not Confidential’, where his exercise session is interrupted by people letting him know that’s he’s being talked about and not in a nice way.

Jimmy Fowlie’s series is a lot of fun, based on his own life where he danced while pursuing an acting degree. Go-Go Boy Interrupted then became a live sketch show at an LA theater and has now made the transition to Youtube.

If you need to catch up, you can watch episode 1 here, and then view eps. 2 and 3 below. [Read more…]

The Woman in Black: Angel of Death Trailer – Jeremy Irvine is the new Daniel Radcliffe

October 22, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

woman-in-black-2-jeremy-irvineWe’ve had a couple of teaser trailers for The Woman in Black: Angel of Death, and now we get the first proper, full trailer for the follow-up to the movie that became the most successful chiller in UK box office history.

There’s no Daniel Radcliffe this time around, with Phoebe Fox, Helen McCrory starring instead, along with the hotness that is Jeremy Irvine.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘England, 1941 With London in the midst of the blitz, two teachers evacuate a group of schoolchildren to the abandoned Eel Marsh House. Seeking safety from the bombs in the remote coastal location, the group instead find themselves facing an evil far more frightening when their arrival awakens the Woman in Black.’

The Gambler Red Band Teaser – Mark Wahlberg enters a dangerous world

October 22, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Gambler-poster1The first teaser for The Gambler – starring Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman, Brie Larson, Michael Kenneth Williams and Jessica Lange – has arrived. It’s a bit of a change of director for Wahlberg after Transformers 4 and for director Rupert Wyatt, whose last movie was Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Jim Bennett (Academy Award®-nominee Mark Wahlberg) is a risk taker. Both an English professor and a high-stakes gambler, Bennett bets it all when he borrows from a gangster (Michael Kenneth Williams) and offers his own life as collateral. Always one step ahead, Bennett pits his creditor against the operator of a gambling ring (Alvin Ing) and leaves his dysfunctional relationship with his wealthy mother (Academy Award®-winner Jessica Lange) in his wake. He plays both sides, immersing himself in an illicit, underground world while garnering the attention of Frank (John Goodman), a loan shark with a paternal interest in Bennett’s future. As his relationship with a student (Brie Larson) deepens, Bennett must take the ultimate risk for a second chance…’

It’s out in the US in December but no official UK release date has been set yet. Take a look at the teaser trailer below. [Read more…]

Win Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom – Season 2 On DVD!

October 21, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

newsroom-s2-dvd-coverThe Newsroom: The Complete Second Season is available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download in the UK from 27th October 2014. Get the autocue prepared and the microphones checked for another bulletin from the ever-changing and politically fuelled world of cable news network ‘ACN’, where the sources aren’t always as trustworthy as they seem. And we’ve got two copies of the DVD box set to give aways.

Nominated for three Emmy®  Awards and two Golden Globe®  Awards, the HBO drama series was created by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, The West Wing) and stars Jeff Daniels (Looper, Speed) as network anchor Will McAvoy, alongside Emily Mortimer (Shutter Island, Hugo) as his executive producer Mackenzie McHale.

The Newsroom: The Complete Second Season welcomes back familiar faces in the news team including; Margaret Jordan (Alison Pill; Scott Pilgrim vs the World), Sloan Sabbith (Olivia Munn; Iron Man 2, Magic Mike), Neal Sampat (Dev Patel; Slumdog Millionaire), news-division boss Charlie Skinner (Sam Waterston; Law & Order) and formidable Leona Lansing as the CEO of Atlantic World Media, (played by Jane Fonda; The Butler), as they set out on a long journey to change the network’s attitude to news.

As season two develops it’s clear that the format has taken a slight twist. While each episode continues to focus on a major piece of news, there’s also a series-long storyline dealing with a piece of misreporting from Will and his team, with the potential to decimate the entire channel and its staff.

The Newsroom: The Complete Second Season uses recent real-life events to show how a news channel would cover big stories, gather facts, and find witnesses. The result is one of the most immersive television shows ever made, lauded on both sides of the Atlantic for its smart, balanced take on issues of the day.

If you’d like to try and win one of the two copies of The Newsroom: The Complete Second Season on DVD that we’ve got to give away, answer the question below and fill in your details, then press submit! The competition closes on November 3rd 2014, so get answering and good luck! [Read more…]

Jesse Plemons To Gay A Gay Saturday Night Live Writer In The Film Other People

October 20, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jesse-plemons-slideBattleship and Breaking Bad actor Jesse Plemons has booked himself a new role (which will hopefully take the sting off the fact that for months he was rumoured to be the lead in the new Star Wars film, but ultimately won’t be in the movie at all). TheWrap reports he’s set to take the lead role in Other People, from writer/director Chris Kelly.

Plemons will play ‘a gay Saturday Night Live writer who returns home to Sacramento to be with his mother (Sissy Spacek), who is in the final stages of terminal cancer. While home, he struggles to deal with a painful recent breakup and reconcile with his conservative father’s disapproving attitude regarding his sexuality.’

It sounds like it’ll be a fairly personal project from Kelly, who is gay and an SNL writer himself, with three Emmy nominations to his name. Other People will mark his feature directorial debut.

To add a little extra cachet the talented Adam Scott (Parks & Recreation) will produce along with his wife Naomi. They’re currently putting all the pieces together in terms of financing with the hope of shooting the movie next year.
