Sam Neill & Rosamund Pike Go A Long Way Down As Filming Commences

September 18, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Principal photography is underway on the Nick Hornby adaptation, A Long Way Down, with Rosamund Pike and Sam Neill joining Pierce Brosnan, Toni Collette, Aaron Paul and Imogen Poots in the movie (and as you can see above, the first image has also been released).

The film is currently being shot on location in England and Spain from a script by Jack Thorne (How I Live Now, The Scouting Book for Boys), with Pascal Chaumeil (Heartbreaker, Fly Me to the Moon) directing.

The film starts on New Year’s Eve on the top of a London skyscraper. Martin (Brosnan) is literally on the edge. A once-beloved TV personality, he’s now desperate to jump. But he’s not alone. Single mother Maureen, (Collette), sassy teen Jess (Poots), and failed musician turned pizza-delivery boy JJ (Paul), have all turned up on the same roof with the same plan. Instead of jumping, these four strangers make a pact to stay alive and stay together until Valentine’s Day at least. The movie then follows this group of unlikely friends as they try to pull back from the brink.

The movie is going to have a quick turnarouns, as the plan is to have it in in cinemas in January 2013.

Smashed Trailer – Can Mary Elizabeth Winstead & Aaron Paul go sober?

September 12, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Mary Elizabeth Winstead & Aaron Paul star in Smashed as a married couple whose bond is built on a mutual love of alcohol gets their relationship put to the test when the wife decides to get sober and he attempts to follow suit. It’s a plot that many will be able to relate to, especially those who’ve found that when they stopped smoking wacky baccy with their partner, they don’t seem as delightful anymore. The movie played Sundance in January, but it’s only now we get the trailer. No UK date is currently set for the film, but it hits US cinemas in October.

Young Actors Sought For Die Hard 5

October 22, 2011 By Movie Muser Leave a Comment

Yesterday, we brought you news that 20th Century Fox has set a Valentine’s Day 2013 release date for the fifth Die Hard flick, A Good Day to Die Hard. We also got a bit more info about the plot, which involves Bruce Willis’ John McClane heading to Russia to help his son.

Now Variety reports that Fox is already eyeing up actors as potential people to fill the role of McLane Jr, with Aaron Paul, Ben Foster, Paul Dano, and Milo Ventimiglia all set to test for the role next week. Fox has also reportedly shown interest in Paul Walker, although he is not expected to test for the role. However this isn’t just about finding someone to fill a supporting role like Justin Long did in Die Hard 4.0, as it’s being suggest that this character may end up carrying the franchise in future sequels.

As we said yesterday, A Good Day To Die Hard follows John McLane Moscow, where he tries sweet talk some cops into letting his apparently-wayward son out of jail. However, when he gets there, the events surrounding his son’s arrest aren’t what they appear and world-threatening terrorist hijinks ensue.

John Moore is directing A Good Day to Die Hard from a screenplay by Skip Woods with shooting expected to start early next year.
