New Glass Trailer – The worlds of Unbreakable and Split meet (including a ripped James McAvoy)

October 11, 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

M. Night Shyamalan pulled another of his trademark surprises in last year’s multiple personality thriller Split, when it was revealed the whole thing was taking place in the same universe as the director’s 2000 movie, Unbreakable. Now the worlds of those two films are coming together for glass.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘M. Night Shyamalan brings together the narratives of two of his standout originals—2000’s Unbreakable, from Touchstone, and 2016’s Split, from Universal—in one explosive, all-new comic-book thriller: Glass. From Unbreakable, Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn as does Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, known also by his pseudonym Mr. Glass. Joining from Split are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast. Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.’

Take a look at the new trailer below. The film is due to hit cinemas next January. [Read more…]

New Death Wish Trailer – Bruce Willis stars in Eli Roth’s take on the Charles Bronson classic

January 4, 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Directed by Michael Winner and starring Charles Bronson, 1974’s Death Wish is one of the classic revenge thrillers, about a man who becomes a vigilante following the death of his wife. The movie spawned four sequels over the next 20 years.

Now it’s getting a reimagining, with Hostel and Cabin Fever helmer Eli Roth directing, and Bruce Willis in the starring role.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Dr. Paul Kersey (Bruce Willis) is a surgeon who only sees the aftermath of Chicago violence when it is rushed into his ER – until his wife (Elisabeth Shue) and college-age daughter (Camila Morrone) are viciously attacked in their suburban home. With the police overloaded with crimes, Paul, burning for revenge, hunts his family’s assailants to deliver justice. As the anonymous slayings of criminals grabs the media’s attention, the city wonders if this deadly vigilante is a guardian angel or a grim reaper.’

The movie is due in US cinemas in March. No UK date is currently set. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

Die Hard Prequel in the Works, With Director Len Wiseman Set to Return

October 17, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

die-hard-slideWhile 2013’s A Good Day To Die Hard was a bit of a flop, Fox obviously thinks there’s still mileage in the franchise, as they’ve enlisted Die Hard 4 director Len Wiseman for a prequel, taking us into the life of a young John McLane.

Bruce Willis is likely to return though, as if he likes the script he’ll pop up as the famed action here, with the rest of the movie taking place in flashback.

Deadline reports that the movie largely takes place ‘in 1979, when McClane was a cop in gritty New York City and showing how he became a die hard kind of guy.’

Wiseman will now help develop the movie alongside an as yet unhired screenwriter, with the hope it’ll be in cinemas in 2017.

Vice Trailer – Bruce Willis and Thomas Jane get involved with androids

December 3, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Vice-posterWill this be one of Bruce Willis’ good movies or one of his paycheck movies? The fact it’s going to iTunes in the US the same day it arrives in cinemas suggests the latter, but we’ll have to wait and see.

It’s Westworld on the beach – here’s the synopsis: ‘Julian Michaels (Bruce Willis) has designed the ultimate resort: VICE, where anything goes and the customers can play out their wildest fantasies with artificial inhabitants who look, think and feel like humans. When an artificial (Ambyr Childers) becomes self-aware and escapes, she finds herself caught in the crossfire between Julian’s mercenaries and a cop (Thomas Jane) who is hell-bent on shutting down Vice, and stopping the violence once and for all.’

It’ll be out in the US January 16th, but it’s not clear yet when it will arrive in the UK. [Read more…]

New Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For Poster Shows Off Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Co.

June 23, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Sin-City-2-quad-PosterWith the marketing for Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For it really does seem that they’re trying to suggest that if you liked the first one you’ll be getting more of the same for the second. Indeed if you didn’t read the full title, you could easily think this was a poster for the first movie – except this time the comic book noir world will be in 3D.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it did give us a sense of deja vu.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Nine years after the box-office smash SIN CITY, the stories of the notorious city dwellers resume in the hugely anticipated sequel SIN CITY 2: A DAME TO KILL FOR. Boasting an all-star cast led by Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises), Eva Green (Dark Shadows), Juno Temple (Killer Joe), Jessica Alba (Sin City, Fantastic Four), Bruce Willis (Looper) and Josh Brolin (Old Boy), this next installment promises to take audiences on a visceral ride into the twisted minds of Frank Miller’s unforgettable characters.

‘Co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller reunite to bring Miller’s visually stunning “Sin City” graphic novels back to the screen in SIN CITY 2: A DAME TO KILL FOR. Weaving together two of Miller’s classic stories with new tales, the town’s most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more reviled inhabitants. SIN CITY 2: A DAME TO KILL FOR is the follow-up to Rodriguez and Miller’s 2005 ground-breaking film, FRANK MILLER’S SIN CITY.’

The film’s due to hit UK cinemas on 25th August 2014 (which oddly enough is a Monday).

As we were promised, the first trailer for Sin City: A Dame To Kill For has arrived, taking us back into Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s highly stylised, hard-boiled, comic book world.

Bruce Willis Having A Labor Of Love & Reuniting With M. Night Shyamalan

January 29, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

bruce-willisM. Night Shyamalan and Bruce Willis had plenty of success together with The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable, but they haven’t worked together since. Now they’re planning to reunite, but it won’t be for a sequel to either of their earlier movies, instead it’ll be a drama called Labor Of Love, according to Deadline.

In the film, ‘Willis will play a Philadelphia book store owner who loses the love of his life in a tragic accident. Never big on words, he becomes haunted by the notion that he never properly told his wife how much he loved her. Since she once asked if he would walk across the country for her, he decides to show her posthumously just how much he did love her. That trek starts from Philadelphia to Pacifica, CA, which was her favorite place.’

Interestingly it’s not a new project, as it was actually one of the first scripts Shyamalan sold back in 1993, but it didn’t get made as Night wanted to direct but Fox, who bought the screenplay, didn’t want to let him.

Now Emmett/Furla/Oasis are buying the rights from Fox and plan to sell the project to interested parties at the European Film Market.
