The Predator Trailer – The alien hunter is back & just as deadly

September 5, 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

There have been a couple of attempts to reinvigorate the Predator franchise, whether it’s been getting them to battle Aliens or taking us to their planet in Robert Rodriguez’s Predators. Fox finally seemed to have given up on it, until Iron Man 3’s Shane Black rocked up with a new idea and suddenly, The Predator was in the works.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.’

Black wrote the script and also directs, with Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey, and Yvonne Strahovski starring. The film will be in cinemas on September 12th. Take a look at the lastest trailer below. [Read more…]

Vice Trailer – Bruce Willis and Thomas Jane get involved with androids

December 3, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Vice-posterWill this be one of Bruce Willis’ good movies or one of his paycheck movies? The fact it’s going to iTunes in the US the same day it arrives in cinemas suggests the latter, but we’ll have to wait and see.

It’s Westworld on the beach – here’s the synopsis: ‘Julian Michaels (Bruce Willis) has designed the ultimate resort: VICE, where anything goes and the customers can play out their wildest fantasies with artificial inhabitants who look, think and feel like humans. When an artificial (Ambyr Childers) becomes self-aware and escapes, she finds herself caught in the crossfire between Julian’s mercenaries and a cop (Thomas Jane) who is hell-bent on shutting down Vice, and stopping the violence once and for all.’

It’ll be out in the US January 16th, but it’s not clear yet when it will arrive in the UK. [Read more…]

Jessica Alba Joining Thomas Jane In The Veil

February 16, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Jessica-AlbaJust a couple days after it was revealed Thomas Jane was set to star in The Veil, he’s got some company, as THR reports that Jessica Alba in is talks to join him.

The movie starts with a religious cult called Heaven’s Veil killing themselves in a mass suicide several years ago, with the only survivor being a five-year-old girl. The film then jumps forward and follows that girl as an adult, who returns to the cult’s compound, along with a documentary crew, looking for answers. Inevitably they find something terrible and supernatural.

Alba is playing a documentary director who accompanies the young woman on her journey. It isn’t clear who Thomas Jane will be.

Phil Joanou (Gridiron Gang, The Punsher: Dirty Laundry) is directing from a screenplay by Robert Ben Garant (Reno 911, Night At The Museum). Jason Blum (Sinister, Paranormal Activity) is producing. The Veil will start shooting in April.

Drive Hard Trailer – Thomas Jane is forced be John Cusack’s getaway driver

February 14, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

John Cusack and Thomas Jane are teaming up for Drive Hard. Now we can get our first look with a trailer.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘American thief, Simon Keller (Cusack), arrives in a foreign country in need of a getaway driver. Rather than recruit one from the underworld, he takes a driving lesson from ex F-1 champion, Peter Roberts (Jane), now working as a driving instructor. After Keller robs a bank during the lesson, Roberts has no choice, but to use his driving talent to get away from pursuing police and mobsters.’

Thomas Jane Goes Behind The Veil For A Micro-Budget Chiller

February 14, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

thomas-janeJason Blum seems to produce about half of the films coming out of Hollywood nowadays due to his knack for making popular films on extremely tiny budgets, such as Paranormal Activity, Insidious, The Purge and Sinister. Now he’s got a new one and Thomas Jane has signed on to star, according to THR.

The movie is called The Veil, and ‘springs from the real-world headlines of religious cults and mass suicides’. The story starts three decades ago, when members of the Heaven’s Veil  religious cult kill themselves. The only one who may know what really happened is the sole survivor, a five-year-old girl. However the truth is buried deep in her memories. She returns to the scene of the mass suicide as an adult, taking a documentary crew along with him. As you’d expect with this sort of movie, it turns out things aren’t as they appear and something terrifying is lurking.

Robert Ben Garant wrote the script. It’s a bit of a departure for him, as normally (alongside Thomas Lennon) the Reno 9ll co-creator has written mainstream family entertainment such as the Night at the Museum films.

Phil Joanou will direct, who previously worked with Jane on the popular unauthorised short, The Punisher: Dirty Laundry. The movie will be shoot in April.

I Melt With You (DVD)

August 3, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Thomas Jane, Rob Lowe, Jeremy Piven, Christian Cook
Director: Mark Pellington
Running Time: 117 mins
Certificate: 18
Release Date: August 6th 2012

How much you enjoy I Melt With You is completely dependent on how you react to the complete left-turn the movie takes halfway through, and also that you don’t expect, as some of the marketing (particularly what came out of the US) has suggested, that this is kind of like a mid-life crisis The Hangover. It most certainly isn’t.

Every year four men meet for a week of drug fuelled debauchery away from their staid normal lives and family. For those few days they can retreat to their youth and its carefree pursuit of fun and the fact everything back in those days was felt far more keenly, before being numbed by the real world. Richard (Thomas Jane), Ron (Jeremy Piven), Jonathan (Rob Lowe) and Tim (Christian McKay) certainly go all out for drink, drugs, sex and general mania, but on day 4, things go horribly wrong when one of them kills themselves. This sets off an ever descending journey for the remaining mates, all based around a note they wrote 25 years before, during their final year of college. [Read more…]

James Marsden, Thomas Jane & Billy Bob Thornton Set To Fights Bears!

January 20, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Surely there can’t be anything more manly than fighting a bear? It appears James Marsden, Thomas Jane and Billy Bob Thornton don’t think so, as they’ve signed up to do just that in Red Machine, from Saw V director David Hackl.

According to Variety, the film is about two estranged brothers (Marsden and Jane) who make amends in the remote wilderness with their respective girlfriends. However, their freshly repaired bond is threatened when they’re attacked and stalked by a grizzly bear nicknamed the Red Machine. Thornton will star as a “legendary bear expert and hunter” who presumably helps the boys out of their predicament (or gets killed to highlight what a badass bear this is).

There seems to be a bit of a man vs. nature theme in Hollywood at the moment, with a couple of shark attack pics doing the rounds, Liam Neeson against wolves in the upcoming The Grey and now nasty bears!
